Your SOG bracelet is awesome ! I Judge pliers by there ability to pull nose hair out . 👍🇬🇧

Great video, thanks. Personally, I've never thought of a time when fast deployment would be a benefit. As long as I can open the blade easily with one hand, I'm happy. But as you said in the video, to each their own.

Metric is the standard for all the world but 2 countries. Anyway, thanks for your video.

Just saw your SOG multi tool collection and came to this video.
Great review!

I agree about the wasted space in the handle where the assisted blades are. Unfortunately SOG's construction forbids blades to open in the pliers hinge they have to open in the bottom of the tool so they could have put the driver or an hammer surface there while having the mechanism.
But well for me they should emphasis on putting tools and options in a multitool rather than putting fidgetty options like this even if it looks cool, I'm pretty sure this is possible to have 4 - 5 auto blades with a rearming system the only thing is the multitool is gonna look weird.
But hey if people can do it I will be happy.
Mostly for 5 blades

T shank blade
Sk5 utility
Standard knife
File
Scalpel holder.

Or even something like you press a button a do a fast hand move to make the blade pop out and press that same button while using gravity to make the blade retract.

I mean possibilities for engineers are here.

Although does SOG can be opened butterfly knife style ?

Personally I prefer the "assistance" on the spring loaded pliers, not in the knives. Nonetheless very interesting concept.

This is perfect for me. I just bought one this week on eBay. 55 bucks new.

Cool story bro but I prefer the Black oxide B63N EOD. You need a compact dedicated fix blade knife anyway like the SOG Instinct 😊

Still the best multi-tool I have owned.

The tool is pretty great. Being able to open the blades and the pliers one handed has proven to be pretty neat when you are, like me, not good at planning ahead.
Sadly the steel used on the blades is pretty brittle. I broke the serrated blade a few years back and had to replace it. Same with the tip of the standard one. I feel for these kind of tools, resistance would be a better factor than edge retention since you are going to mess around quite a lot with them and, as you said, the blades are pretty thin to begin with.

The wings are seen on old Leatherman prototypes. Are they suppose to keep you from hot spotting your hands when you put a lot of hand pressure on the handles?

Another decent SOG! Seems it’s time for all “The Bigs” to get into some “real” specialty offerings. They just keep changing up the same old tool offerings. We need something more than the Squirt or Style series… something larger.

I don't like the "wing" or bracket. Not a huge deal but I just don't like them. I've seen other SOG tools before and they have those on there, its a turnoff for me. The tools look nice though, I really don't have a use for the strip cutter implement though.

You have a Leatherman Tread. You must have really wanted one, as I think they are very overpriced.

At 5:28-9 the SOG knifeblade looks thicker than the Wave.
