Many tnx for this tutorial on Rufus! its working great and makes less painfull to prepair a OS install.
I tested with 2008r2 and 2016, both did great without issue on old hardware with 'bios' boot.
Also works fine if you adding manually some directorys after the usb is created like drivers what need to run in Windows setup.

In the installation, you just clicked on random stuff. Why the heck would you install a datacenter version of windows server 2016? Because it has the GUI? Wrong. The second option has a GUI also.

Server core, which is like windows server 2016, doesnt have the GUI. These options were the 1st and 3rd option. You would have been best off with chosing the second option, standard, which for you, as a home user experiencing with windows server 2012, doesnt make any difference to you whatsoever.

The differences between standard and datacenter installations are:

Standard
1. Supports less people
2. You can only have 2 virtual machines
3. Can not be a network controller

Datacenter
1. Supports more people
2. Unlimited virtual machines
3. Can be a network controller

Also, you can just put the links in the description, it would have been much more helpful...

These are just some of the differences. Do some research before you start clicking on stuff. The ignorance of clicking the last option because it has a GUI shows you dont really know how to use or install server without clicking on random objects. You did do a great job actually showing us how to get server to boot from a USB drive. I will still give this video a like though, and il sub to you.
