Fix for Group Text Messages send individually in Android, Change this setting in the messaging app

For this, we recommend using a SMS/MMS messaging app call Google Messages, where you can setup the Group Chat options, and configure whether you want to:

Send an SMS reply to all recipients and get individual replies (mass text) or Send an MMS reply to all recipients (group MMS)

In this case, we want to avoid the frist option, so we should select the second option to have all text messages sent to the Group

You can download Google Messaging app for free on the Play Store, then onced installed, set it up as the default messaging app. Open it, go to Settings, Advanced, then Group messaging and select the option mentioned above.

This was very helpful and strait to the point. One glaring error is that the app is only financially free. It is not free. When you open the app it leads you to the spam filter privacy simply hoping someone is distracted from reading about the app privacy. It collects all of your personal information. It's classic Google originally funded for startup by seed money from the NSA (many don't know this). Make your own conclusion, we're all kind of trapped by the lack of American laws to protect our privacy by design. Americans should demand it as many in Europe do.

How do you send group text where all replies only come back to you and not the whole group?

Sorry, I just don't understand. I want to send a group text, but when they REPLY, the rest of the group will not get the reply. Only ME. Which option do I select.

I was in a group conversation yesterday and a today I wanted to send a private message to someone who was in the group yesterday but ONLY to that one person today. I closed the group conversation and found that person in my contact list apart from the group. I thought I was sending the message to ONLY that person, but the text went to the group. How can I accomplish what I wanted? Thanks.

Currently I have an LG phone, and the message app is one I LOVE. Since LG no longer makes cell phones and doesn't support them, I am going to have to buy a different brand. One messaging feature on the LG phone that I am going to miss is the ability to choose whether I want to send my group text as "Group Messaging" or "Individual Messaging". I don't have to leave the page to go to settings to change what I want to do. I cannot believe other android phones don't have this feature as it is something I use all the time. Maybe I'm the only one who uses it and likes it. Does anyone know of any other Messaging app that has this option?

I was using MI phone earlier. I had groups in my contacts. I could select a group and send them a text message at once. But in Google messages I am unable to send text to group at a time.

I am still not receiving them in one thread as I have with other Androids before. I have to open, which it says "download" within each person's thread to see it in their thread then, for them to see my response at once, I have to return to the group thread and type my response. Help please! I get lost in their texts before I get to answer one and their texts all come in within their own thread so I do not know which text came first... and this is for work!

My issue is my group chats. When I send a message? They say they get it, but when they try to send something back. It tells me to download, and it says message has expired and not available any solutions to that. I have tried to clear the catch data. I have reset the phone contact with my provider. And nothing has worked. It was working fine, and then all the sudden this happened.
