Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister, also known as simply Lemmy, was an English musician. He was the founder, lead singer, bassist and primary songwriter of the rock band Motörhead, of which he was the only continuous member, and a member of Hawkwind from 1971 to 1975.

Lemmy himself was born Ian Kilmister and it was widely reported that he acquired his nickname as a youngster who often asked: "Lemme (lend me) a quid"

This is the most frail I’ve ever seen Lemmy - you can tell he was near the end of his life here, but considering the life he lived, he had most definitely been blessed with longevity
RIP LEMMY - you were one of a kind

A few months after Phil passed away, Lemmy did as well. And a year or so later, Eddie also left earth.
The three amigos, now united, rocking throughout heaven. I bet there is a really loud sound of manic drums, fast guitar licks and thunderous bass coming out of heaven's gate.

My father best mate was a real handy lad. A good boxer who was fearless. My dad always says that he cannot understand why and a man who would square up against anybody and who was afraid of nothing would kill themselves at such a young age. Sometimes, you just can't save people from themselves.

Even in his last days, he never lost that Lemmy charisma and charm. He still had it in him to crack a joke and laugh.

RIP Legend, we still fn love and remember you!!🤘🏻🔥

"you also lost a former band member last week" imagine telling this to a 70 years old man who lost his buddy and getting paid in return.

I saw Motörhead at the Tower in Philadelphia in September of 2015. It was my first and only time seeing them live. I grew up with Motörhead, and they will always be one of my favorite bands. Lemmy announced that the Tower theater was special to him, because it was the first venue he played in with his band when he came to the states over 30 years before. I remember feeling this tremendous joy and excitement at knowing I was seeing him perform in a place that meant so much to him. He passed away in late December of that same year. Thank you Lemmy and Motörhead for all of your hard work and dedication to your music and fans. My life has had its ups and downs, but good music always helps me. It’s medicine for the soul!
