it is something that blacks experience in America during slavery and Jim Crow and to some degree the remanence of it is still around today and is being defended by many of the white power structure. and in South Africa blacks experience it during apartheid. Whites were always free to pursue capitalism and pursue their version of happiness but it came at the price of having their boot on the next of black people. So totalitarianism is something that eye of the black man in law too familiar with when I am stopped by the police.

Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody.

When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all.

Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man... that state is obsolete.

I am sorry but this is totally wrong. Totalitarianism does not mean "rule by the law" in any capacity. The concept was first used by anti-fascist Giovanni Amendola to contrast fascist dictatorship which he deemed utopian, with the dictatorships where the ruler only rules for profit and power. Fascist philosopher Giovanni Gentile ascribed a new meaning to it, which is "the total representation of society by the state and the total guidance of its goals". This means, that the state is viewed as an organism, with societal institutions constituting organs in it, and individual goals should not counteract national interest, which is of utmost importance under this system. This video confuses the notion of totalitarianism with the characteristics of regimes commonly described as "totalitarian" (often with no reason to do so), which characteristics are indeed horrible, but this definition is incorrect. The commonly held definition of totalitarianism that was created by Hannah Arendt should not be idolized because her worldview is closer to yours, and it should be acknowledged that the word can have many, potentially contradictory definitions. Also, this video uses the term "state" as it was some parasite on society and not a natural institution, I am very confused.

Totalitarism is a vague and a bad defined category. By putting Stalin's USSR and Hitler's Nazi germany as, somewhat, equal regimes, this analysys made a Hugo mistake. This is a fatal flaw. There could be no other better example of extreme opposites in all europe than the one made of Nazi germany and the USSR, the former a authoritarian regime supported by the bourgeoisie and the later a democratic state built by the working class with a democratic elected ruler . If opression and authoritarian rule was something that defines a Totalitarian State, this could be, without doubt, be applied to every single capitalist State which, in the imperialist stage of capitalism, has exported its capital and control abroad.
