The only Socialism that doesn't create dictatorship is "Small Co Op/Commune started and run by like-minded people together" but funnily enough, nearly no Socialist wants to actually start their own co op or commune

Socialism—an ideology so sound, it has to be made mandatory.

I call it the "No True Communism" argument whenever they say "It wasn't real communism."

Commie: the army is socialism
Me: yes, you can't decide shit for yourself, you get what they give you and you have to follow orders under the threat of death

Im a communist with my family.
A socialist with my friends and neighbors.
Im a complete free market capitalist with strangers.
It goes against human nature to give the same consideration to strangers as you would give to family

I've NEVER seen a case where Marxism doesn't lead to tyranny.

So many people think that if you don't call it "government" that it doesn't govern you. They say stuff like "local communities" and "unions" will run things. Yet devoid of any greater authority, in a state of anarchy, there would still be government in the form of family and or natural hierarchies (I have the biggest stick, I make the rules.)

Communists:
Give the government sweeping powers to regulate and control every aspect of production and distribution as part of new economic reorganization scheme.

Also Communists:
Oh no, the government has too much power!

It’s the classic “power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely” in real time.

I was talking to a communist the other day who tried to defend North Korea; apparently every single piece of information available is capitalist propaganda, and, since socialism is great, the only valid assumption in the absence of evidence is that it's nice there. Oh and the reason the people there aren't allowed online is that we somehow made it illegal for the country to access the Internet, despite the fact that the internet doesn't work like that and they definitely have access to it.
I ended up being like genuinely concerned for him lol

Marxists define marxism as "when marxism succeeds" which is not only a failure of definition, but they also refuse to apply that same leeway to any other definitions - say, capitalism.

I actually managed to get this video played in our class debating about the possibility to implement marxism and the debate was pretty much over immediately. Thank you mentis for dropping basedpills wherever possible

I play D&D with a guy who believes in communism. He's actually great as long as we don't argue politics. The biggest problem is that he'll respond to anything I say with total non-sequitors. His points will be legitimate issues that in no way relate to what I said.

A couple things to consider when debating about this is two things in my experience:
1) socialists will make the argument that marxism, socialism and communism are not the same thing and use that to debunk your argument. It is true they are not the same thing, However, they are inextricably correlated, marxism is the method to uproot capitalism, socialism is the means to instate a government to pave the road to communism. That is irrefutable unless we're talking about anarcho communists but thats wholly different. It's an attempt to muddy the conversation and shut it down.
2) Fascism is downstream from socialism. They will deny it up and down, but fascism is not much different from socialism, fascism did not spring up until much after socialist thought first whipped up, Mussolini was a profound socialist before he decided socialism didn't go far enough in forming a strong Italy so he came up with his fascism. Franco and Hitler would follow suit. Fascist means are the same as socialist ones, collectivize or corporatize resources, just in the name of different things, be it workers or The State. Think about it, why would a socialist ever think to let something OUTSIDE the collective/the state they believe is the end goal? Both ideologies ended the same way. I'm tired of marxist leninists in particular acting like they're the good guys even though Lenin was a terror like his successor, he just died soon after the revolution. You look at the actions of both ideologies and the results are the same. so why should we not treat marxists with the same disdain as fascists?

When the means of production are owned by a concept the owners of the concept are the actual owners. The owners of the concept being the party.

Heck, the Marxist pipeline to dictatorship was pointed by Mikhail Bakunin...a contemporary of and rival to Marx.
