8cm means 0.128 seconds reaction time, the formula is:
Square root of (distance/4.9)

How to get the formula:
The ruler start to move at time t=0 with no initial velocity and under influence of the gravity acceleration, he will travel a distance D in T seconds, being T the time of reaction
g/2 * T^2 = D, g is around 9.8, so g/2=4.9

T^2 = D/4.9
T = sqrt( D/4.9 )

Best way to have an advantage is to look at the hand instead of the ruler, as the ruler will only start accelerating down after the hand releases

As you get older the meylin sheath deteriorates and the high way for your nerves is impacted. This is what makes reaction times and twitch fibers fast. You can prolong the life of them with vitamin C and oranges. I learned this in like the 4th grade reading a book. Idk why I remember it

A week ago we did this in physics class and my measure was 14cm

I did this test with my friends and we all got 1-2cm.
We then repeated with the consistenty placement and selective countdowns and got similar results to you.

If you do a test, remember that participants cants be blamed for flawed outcomes. Only the test can be blamed for being a flawed test.

I mean impressive none the less but feels a bit unfair considering most drops for normal people are above while f1 is practically in there hand
