Revisit Rickie Fowler's epic comeback at THE PLAYERS Championship 2015, where he came back from a five-shot deficit with six holes to play. After a three-hole aggregate playoff, Fowler defeated Kevin Kisner in a sudden-death playoff on the 17th hole to claim victory at TPC Sawgrass.

TPC Sawgrass will once again host THE PLAYERS Championship, with 43 of the top 50 golfers in the world teeing it up at the iconic event. After a brilliant run that has seen him claim three wins in six starts on the PGA TOUR this year, World No. 1 Jon Rahm will lead the field. Reigning FedExCup Champion and winner of THE PLAYERS in 2019 Rory McIlroy will be confident in challenging for glory after an impressive showing at last week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational saw him finish T2, just one shot behind eventual winner Kurt Kitayama. All 14 players who have won on TOUR this season will be competing, including Max Homa, who currently sits in second in the FedExCup Standings. The Californian shot an impressive 6-under-par 66 in the final round of last year’s event to finish T13. 2021 winner Justin Thomas will be looking for his first win since the 2022 PGA Championship. The World No. 9 has recorded just one top-10 finish so far in 2023 and will be looking to recreate some of the magic that saw him shoot a combined 12-under-par across rounds three and four to secure THE PLAYERS two years ago. 30 players will be competing in the event for the first time, including 2022 Wyndham Championship and Shriners Children’s Open winner Tom Kim.

Such a fine finish. Rickie Fowler goes to make the playoff against Sergio Garcia and Kevin Kisner. Fowler wins in sudden death on 17 with an absolute dart. Long live Rickie Fowler.

That three 17th hole shot is the SAME trajectory every time - absolutely crazy consistency, and indeed as PGA Tour YouTube says - epic win AT THE 17TH.

Absolute stud for sticking it to less than 10ft 3 times in a row on the island green during those stakes. A Sunday afternoon for the books by rickie

Fowler made 5 birdies on 17 that tourney? Wow. That’s more than the careers of some guys.

That orange driver is iconic. This tournament was the reason I bought the Fly-Z in seventh grade. I used it for seven years and when I was on with it, I could not miss.

When he's on, Rickie is as good as it gets.

I often here ppl complain about Roger saying uh oh on that 2nd time around on 17 in the playoff. But the skill to have that ball sit up there instead of hit & take off is ridiculous. Normally, you expect the worse there if you go right at the hole. Unbelievable golf by Rickie.

I'd love to see him win another big championship or a major this year.

When a pro get’s a bounce like he did on 16, they’re destined to win that day!

Great performance. Something else get his attention later? What happened?

Shame he never quite made the top elite. When he played like this anything looked possible, but it seems that was his best moment perhaps.

This is so cool. I remember Cam Smith hitting an amazing approach shot to secure the 2022 Players, you should post that!

P.S. Hello all PGA Bootlicking boomer parrots 😎
