Thank you so much for this video!! I have 1 kiddo and man I really just put so much pressure on myself for this year thinking I need to be “ full on out curriculum style approach “ but in reality I do not. this was such a fresh of breath air seeing you do this video and how layed back u are NOW!!
Seeing you from 3yr ago-2 year ago- 1 year ago and now you changed a lot and you are now getting the feel of homeschooling!!! “ doing what works for yall, steeping back by being so hard on yourself, getting learning materials and just piecing them all together that will for yall” i love it and you have grown so much!!!
I need to take it in bc even though I have been schooling my girl since she was 2 but more thru play and little work books for fun. My girl is now really advanced but now she is hitting kinder level technically but being she advanced besides LA and reading. Which is fine we definitely can take time with that. I’m in no rush.
I was in a rabbit hole of finding a curriculum and getting a “ package deal” but man this can be expensive and exhausting and not even knowing if that curriculum will work I can’t seem to justify to spend 900 on a curriculum I just can’t so this is what u came up with for our kindergarten year!

family time study: master books- more then words level one
And read favorite poems old and new

Math: I am leaning towards math with confidence/ or even apologia

LA : all about reading pre reading and then maybe throw in first little readers. ( I do not want it to be so strict since we do work with speech pathologists and blending sounds is hard rn so I don’t want it to be chore so we are light with this area for “ work wise “ so we mostly do 10 mins of work, and read alouds and then rest is through games for the next 10 mins or 15 and we do games that belong in the area we are mastering )

Writing: handwriting without tears and little supplementary items off Amazon.

Science : materbooks: god design life for beginners. or even Preschool/ kindergarten ScienceExploring Creation Together which is through apologia curriculum.

History: master books / my story k.

Your honest opinion since you have been obviously homeschooling way more then I have is this a good start? I know I can tweak it and stuff like that.

Do u think I need to add in a LA curriculum?! I was thinking sonligh bc they do have a whole complete set with ( reading, writing, grammar, spelling, phonics, readers, and LA) and it’s cheaper then all about reading and covers more. I’m stuck on just those two I think for LA. Idk if I need all that this year or do I just focus on my daughter with blending letter sounds ?

I'd love to hear how MWC is going, especially how it compares with your experience using CLE math!

Would you recommend logic of English over learning language through literature? Or how would you compare the two? Thanks! I’ve enjoyed your videos, glad I found your channel!

Yall might enjoy the podcast Classics for Kids to match up with your composer study. It's awesome!

I just found your channel. I subscribed, loved seeing what you’re using this year. I’m also a homeschool mom of 4. My kids are 8, 6, 3 and 1 month old. I also have a homeschool/lifestyle channel too 😊 I love finding other homeschool moms and connecting and learning new things from them.

Would you consider doing a comparison of Math with Confidence and the Apologia math? And specifically could you address how much teacher involvement is needed for each and how much time it typically takes each day?

Hi, do you have any updated thoughts on Apologia Math vs MWC now that you’ve been using both for a while? Would you say Apologia plus Math Facts That Stick would be a solid alternative if MWC isn’t a good fit?
