Nader Shah became known as the "Napoleon of Iran" only in the 19th century (of course). The thing is that it was in the 19th century that there was an active development of science and the study of the countries of Asia. For people of that time, Nader's achievements seemed incredible and the only one they could compare Nader with was only Napoleon. However, in the 18th century, when Nader Shah lived and fought, he was called the Second Alexander the Great.
And although this is a very complimentary characterization, I believe that Nader Shah is much more than these comparisons. His very name should be a household name. And others should be compared to him. Unfortunately, Nader Shah, the liberator of Iran and the last great Asian conqueror, is very little known in the world
I hope History Marche makes more videos about him.

Let's go!
For context the Safavids had controlled Iran for two centuries until a great Aghan rebellion led by the Hotak dynasty led to its destruction and chaos in Iran. The Hotaks claimed the title of rulers of Iran, but there remained a small group of Safavid loyalists. These loyalists would get into their services a local warlord in khorasan, nader shah, who through genius military strategy and revolutionising the military with artillery and modern rifles, reconquered Iran from the Ottomans and the Hotaks. How at the begining of the video he is destroying the Hotaks.
