Misread the title as "Napoleon in Iran" and spent way too long trying to remember which campaign of his took him there.

I'm not a fan of the man, but Nader Shah deserves a full series similar to that of Napoleon, The Shah was a military genius, and his victories are impressive.

Thank you HistoryMarche for telling the story of Nader Shah the Great! It is about time history channels pay attention to Nader's brilliant victories. Can't wait for the rest of this series. Also I may suggest covering Shah Abbas too.

Nader, the Chinggis fan when he heard his messengers were killed: "Hey I've seen this one! This one is a classic."

One of the most under rated conquerors of history. This man deserves a series

I’m seeing some people in the comments trying to falsify Iranian history by portraying Nader Shah and other Iranian rulers as foreign due to their ethnicity, specifically because they were not Persian. However, it's important to understand that Iran has always been a multi-ethnic state, a legacy dating back to the Achaemenid Empire, which spanned from Europe and North Africa to Central and South Asia. Notably, even some Achaemenid kings were not of purely Persian descent, as they may have had Median or Babylonian lineage through their maternal side.

Today, Iran remains a diverse nation, home to various ethnic groups including Turks, Persians, Kurds, Baloch, Armenians, Georgians, and so on. This diversity is why we are called Iran and not Persia, unlike some countries that are named after a single ethnicity despite being home to many others. In contrast, Iran belongs to all its people, not just one ethnic group.

Attempts to depict Nader Shah or other Iranian rulers as foreign are misguided; they fought for the state of Iran and crowned themselves as Shahanshah-i-Iran, reflecting their commitment to the entire nation.

I will finish my statement with what Nader Shah had inscribed on his coins: 'The Nadir of the land of Iran, the Caesar who seizes the world, coin in precious metal broadcast the name of this sultanate throughout the world.'"

P.S. Thank you, HistoryMarche, for your fantastic video on Nader Shah. It was great, as always.

More vids about Nader's battles would be greatly appreciated. I suggest Battle of Kirkuk, Battle of Yeghevārd and Battle of Karnal.

He lost his first battle against Ottomans and then defeated them 6 consecutive times, while being massively outnumbered. Same goes for his campaigns in India.

During his reign, the Ottomans withdrew from western Iran, the Russians from the Caucasus and northern Iran, and the Afghans from eastern Iran. After the conquest of India, he intended to build a fleet in the Black Sea to conquer Crimea from the Tatars..and intended to conquer Astrakhan from Russia by land and sea

Calling Nader the Napoleon of Iran comes from Euro-centric world view. Nader was before Napoleon and Napoleon was inspired by his techniques and use of light and heavy artillary.

Joseph Stalin used to read about Nader Shah and admired him, calling him, along with Ivan the Terrible, a teacher. In Europe, Nader Shah was compared to Alexander the Great. Starting from a young age, Napoleon Bonaparte also used to read about and admire Nader Shah. Napoleon considered himself the new Nader, and he himself was later called European Nader Shah. Nader shah is probably one of the greatest Turkic ruler

Since Nader Shah came before Napoleon, Napoleon is the Nader Shah of France. Fantastic video, by the way! The content was insightful and well-presented—looking forward to more like this!

Ahmad's chroniclers also adapted and reconfigured various legitimating devices from Nader's ruling ideology. This included labeling the Afghans (and in particularly the Dorrani family) as the  “il-e jalil-e Afghan” or “il-e jalil-e Dorrani” in imitation of the phrase “il-e jalil-e Torkman” used by Nader's court historians.
