The joy of missing out if such a powerful concept, especially after years of hearing “FOMO” and “YOLO”. Typically you would think missing out is negative, but really it’s a beautiful thing.
I moved to a very rural area a little over two years ago and accidentally stumbled into essentialism (when it’s an hour round trip to the grocery store you learn to make do). Since being here there is no going out to eat all the time, going anywhere often for that matter and it’s been life changing. Now, even just getting a fast food burger is something special, or just getting out to do regular errands seems like an adventure.
While I’m not saying everyone should ditch their lives and move to the mountains, just doing less can make every day moments feel like more.

Making time for meaningful things in life is so important.
I’ve had a giant reading list for ages- this year I’ve finally stopped making BS excuses and have made time to read. I’ve gone through 3 novels this year already and hope to get through many more.

Essentialism is one of my favorite books. I go back to it at least once a year to remind myself of the valuable lessons.

A helpful mindset change is taking time instead of making time. We all share the limit of the same amount of time, and can't make more. But we can take time for what we value, and have boundaries for the rest without guilt.

I'm currently listening to McKeown's book: Essentialism while out on my daily walks. His chapter on Play is one of the most important parts of this book. We need time to play. It is truly essential for a creative, well balanced life.

I always watch your videos in the morning when I'm waking up with coffee because you film your videos with a calm voice and the colors are neutral & aesthetically pleasing. However today I did not expect to be busting up laughing, my husband was wondering what I was laughing at. I showed him the part where you're sitting with a crazy look on your face. 😳😂 ( that's exactly how we feel when we have too much going on) Thank you so much for the morning laughs. I love the book essentialism as well.
