The simplest way to embrace a Growth Mindset | @ShadeZahrai #shorts

Want to know a simple way to start embracing a growth mindset? According to Carol Dweck, it’s through the use of a three-letter word:

YET!

As Dweck outlines in her book ‘Mindset’, the word ‘yet’ embodies a realization that some things are worth waiting for, and those things take work.

This word allows for success because it reminds us that simply because something isn’t currently attainable (because we don’t have the skills or competence - yet), we can still work at it and achieve it in the future.

The fact is, neuroscience research has demonstrated that our brain can form new connections (called neuroplasticity) so it’s never too late to rewire our mindset and create new neural pathways.

So, next time you hear yourself sharing (or thinking) a limiting statement, add the word ‘yet’ to the end to remind yourself that growth is possible. Because, it is!

Some examples:

• I can’t do this – yet.
• I can’t get this to work – yet.
• I can’t learn how to code – yet.
• I can’t lead this team through change – yet.

Were you aware of the power of Yet? Let me know!

I have been following your channel for a while now and I have to say a massive thank you for sharing advice on this platform, it has helped me grow my confidence. 🙂 Adding 'Yet' to the end of negative thoughts is a great idea, I also liked the quote "Those who achieve success believe in their most basic abilities" - Carol Dweck
