Lenovo T490 going to sleep due to the lid closure magnet getting tripped Part 2

So i figured out that it is there is a magnetic sensor in the chassis by the trackpad that senses when the lid closes. Using a magnet i was able to trip that sensor and it put the computer to sleep the exact way that Sam was reporting. I checked a T490s that we have in production and the magnetic sensor is on the top of the screen by the webcam.
so if we have any user that is wearing a bracelet for instance, that has a rare earth magnet in it for closure, it is going to trip the sensor

My Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 9 does not go to sleep when the lid is closed although closing the lid is set to sleep.
Whenever I close the lid the LED red light stays on as if closing the lid wakes up the machine. It will sleep normally if I left the lid open and pressed the sleep button, but as soon as I close the lid the machine wakes up for some reason. Any help or tips to fix this frustrating issue will be appreciated. Thanks

Any idea how to fix this? I don’t have a Thinkpad but my Lenovo Y50-70 touch does not go to sleep when the lid is closed. The setting in windows 10 is set to put system to sleep when it’s closed

I'm an EUC Technician, and my work T490 has been randomly going to sleep from seemingly light touches to the palm rest, I think i have something like that going on, perhaps a faulty sensor. Sometimes, and I do mean 'sometimes', when I set my phone or rest my hand on the right-hand palm rest, the unit blinks to sleep and comes back up again. Hard to replicate, so i'm not sure it's worth sending back into Lenovo or not. If you read this, what do you think?
