As a woman, especially in your thirties or older you're so used to great things not being marketed for you, being made into the butt of jokes, always being placed in a box that you're always on edge waiting for it to happen every time a man speaks. Ryan is so excellent here, I breathe easy when watching it.

There is no way I could thank you enough for that daily e-mail I receive. I am glad you mention some of the stoic women in this video. I particularly loved what your wife mentions about the one writing about something and the one being it, because this is how I sometimes have seen my life for the last 50 years. ( I am 72 now)

I’ve been a Stoic since 2018 and also keep Robert Greene’s horse and rider always in my head. Sometimes my friends don’t think I have much empathy for what may come off as their victim mentality. I just know that reading your wonderful books I like myself more for it. Thank you Mr. Holiday.

Inspiring to learn of the stoic women! Keep it up. I would love to learn about older stoics. I am 52 and I feel both young physically and wiser than my younger self … I would love to learn of people who have contributed to society in their later years. I could use that type of mentor to guide me through my retirement years and help me to still feel relevant and a contributor to the good of humankind. :)

Thank you Ryan! The amount of stoicism is takes for women to even make it in this world because of the level of sexism (I mean let's just look at the comments below this video) is astounding. The level of emotions that comes out of many men as a backlash to feminism because they are insecure and are afraid of change (lack courage) and refuse to join the fight (lack of justice) is very telling. There is a lack of wisdom from some men who refuse to see and accept the truth about women and the lack of temperance on their parts proved by all the war, violence, lust and addictions they do in majority speak of a severe blindness on the lack of stoicism on their parts. Men like you show a good example though. Hopefully, you will rub on the many who fail to live like stoics.

Be careful of when people tell you that you’re choosing to be angry or hurt ect. Some narcissistic abuse will sound very similar to not take responsibility of their actions or invalidate your feelings: “you’re choosing to be upset”.
While I agree with taking personal responsibility, don’t accept abuse and blame yourself.

This means there’s hope. I consider Ryan Holiday to be a man of influence and I am pleased to hear that you/he has the ability to recognize women for what we are-warriors. We still live in a man’s world and are reminded of it daily by the phrases- “you guys, you fight like a girl, and man...” These are all cringe worthy statements.

4:23 I always got the feeling that Ryan holiday was indeed every minute of his life striving to be a stoic when in fact he isn't naturally wired this way, in contrast with other people who are natural stoics (like his wife, who even jokes about it), to whom stoicism is just the default mode they have always been. My partner and stepfather are very similar and embody stoicism perfectly, without even knowing anything about it (they have the ISTJ personality type) when I (ENFP) have to study and work on my philosophy everyday.
