At least as of the date of recording this video, IK Multimedia has yet to release a proper editor for the ToneX pedal and their software is still not as intuitive as many would like. Among these little quirks is how to actually import a ToneX preset that you've purchased. Thankfully, this short and sweet video shows you how to do just that!

I just downloaded the latest software and now you can drag and drop. Maybe it was enabled a long time ago, I hadn’t used the software in ages. Just glad it’s a little less of a kluge now.

They really need to add an import button somewhere under librarian. I was confused the first time I did this. How does the Tone Factor Princeton sound? I was thinking about getting that.

ToneX is great, but their software is horrible. Incredibly convoluted UIs that are really hard to navigate and aren't intuitive at all.

I know I'm late to the party, but I have a question. I'm considering switching to Tonex and was wondering if I can pull up an amp and change the cab to whatever I want? For example, right now on my Fractal I can use an AC20 with a Ohm Hammer 4x12 Marshall cab that I love and use for all my presets. Thanks for your help!

I just bought a used tone x. Can I just download the free tone x software and be able to load and organize purchased captures?

Hello hope you are doing well. I know u use ToneX a bit and was wondering if u could provide some assistance. I reached out to IK Support as well but in the meantime wanting to see some other thoughts. Trying to load a file but I am unable to.

The ToneXMax software is the most up to date at 1.5.1.

The firmware for the pedal is at 1.0.9. And the system says there are no more updates available even after asking for new updates.

But when trying to load the file, it says the firmware needs to be updated. Any ideas? I have reached out to IK Support as well.

I just bought a pack. I don't have a pedal, just the app. There are no files and no download links. Librarian does not work without a pedal. How do I get the captures into the app?

IK Multimedia, hang your heads in shame. The instructions you supply to do this are awful. I mean miles away. Not the same ball park. Not even the same effing planet.
