Because it doesn’t have an atmosphere. Earth has been hit PLENTY of times, probably more, but the craters erode away. Whilst it is true that SOME impacts are “blocked” by the moon, the main reason that we haven’t really seen all that many asteroids impact earth is because we haven’t been around for very long. Even then, there are multiple accounts throughout history of asteroid strikes.
Don’t be deceived, earth would be peppered with holes as well if it weren’t for some very key factors.

While it's true that the Moon has many meteor craters, it doesn’t exactly 'save' Earth. The Moon’s gravity might capture or deflect some meteoroids, but Earth’s atmosphere plays a bigger role in protecting us by burning up most small meteors before they hit the surface. Both Earth and the Moon have faced countless impacts over billions of years, but Earth’s weather and geological activity erase most craters over time. The Moon is more like a record keeper of the solar system's history!
