Thank you for sharing the travels and tips
Experience matters!
I do like your idea of selecting bikes familiar to the areas and regions, its a smart choice.

Good days

Fantastic place, Pavlin. Before a trip my bikes are perfect. I've not done more than 4.500 km on one trip in Europe. So no service needed. With you distances there the oil to take care of. And of course there'll be gremlins, flats or falls. Enjoy those beautiful countries, Günter/Nürnberg

You mentioned the dusty environment as a reason for changing oil but forgot another important maintenance job: Cleaning the airfilter. Enjoy your trip and safe journey.

My experience with Honda is that they are not that good and I have owned a few and my friends too. The Honda Wave is the exception. You seem to be having problems already and the blonde Dutch girl had plenty. I have had a Yamaha scooter for 10 years now, it gets used by everyone every day and has been totally trouble free, like your two Terreres. I wish you luck with those bikes, but take it easy with that 100kg payload and think you have the right idea keeping an eye on everything. Keep an eye open for frame cracks, a known weakness of the CRF.

Thanks very much for all your experiences that are so useful for us all. I'd like to know what is the model & brand of your handguards since I broke one of my original Yamaha handguards but Yamaha doesn't make them anymore 😭😭😭Also: I'm surprised that your partner doesn't have any handguards. I have sturdy ones & they protected my gas tank the few times I dropped my bike 😃😃😃

I had a motorcycle similar, and changed oil every 2500 km

What about your chain maintenance, how often do you lube it, adjust the slack during these long trips ?
