FiiO FD15 review. Oriveti Dynabird review. Oriveti Lowmaster review. Truthear Gate review. Kefine Delci review. Sivga Que review.

NOTE: The Truthear Gate is $19 USD, not $10 USD as I said in the review. I can only assume that it was on special when I did my research and I didn't realise. My apologies!

I found the 1 IEM to rule them all for me, and haven’t bought one since 😅 haha

Nice review again .
I have been using a pair of Final 3B iems for over 3 years now and have no desire to trade them in. This pair continues to amaze me.

I used to have 20+ IEMs but now I only keep my Sony Z1R and M9, one fun and one warm neutral relaxing IEM. Honestly just get the most comfortable and well built IEM you can buy and use a bit of EQ, most IEMs are reasonably well tuned out of the box anyway.

Please! Cutting corners? Most 10mm dynamic drivers cost $4.35 when bought in multi thousand lots and the same drivers are in budget and high priced IEMs. The difference is the tuning, venting, and the like. Save your money. Buy a highly rated, by at least 4 reviewers, budget IEM and tune with Wavelet. HBB, SUPER REVIEW, older (pre 2024) Crinacle, Paul Wasabi are good sources.

Really good vid mate - love the range of prices you covered too - extremely accessible for most people. I used to hate them (comfort wise in my ear), but now, thanks to you, I'm an iem convert.

I found one that plays my library incredibly well. I do eventually want to get a fat frequency set that gives visceral bass impact when I’m wanting that.

I just got the Meze Alba. I think it’ll do for the foreseeable future. I like it more and more, and think it’s more than capable for times I can’t use loudspeakers. Paired with my mojo 2(which I’d argue is even better integrated into my main system with loudspeakers)otg, I can’t imagine needing to spend any more for otg. I’m really trying to just enjoy what I have now that I’ve done all my cable and power supply/cord upgrades across all my stuff. I’m very pleased. Thanks for all your help Lachlan!

IEMs are so small and collectable! But I only use mine when walking or traveling light, so I don't need much as long as they're comfortable. I have a couple pair and see no need to get more. I seem to always want another set of headphones though.

I stoped the IEM stable at Variations..and now concentrate on my headphone game ..with a side trip into my vinyl collection….

Good moral to the story really, be happy with what you have.

Great vid. I agree with most of what you’re saying. Caveat is the tech is moving so fast. Sound quality that cost $600 just 3-4 years ago can be bought today (if clever) for half that price. I have about 15 iems, some over $500. I’m very impressed with the Ziigaat Doscincos and Estrellas. They put their value in the iems, sound and drivers. Could have provided better cable and accessories and charged more. but most of us have tons of tips and cables. I love my Meteors ($600) but the Doscincos have surpassed them at less than half its price ($269) and are easier to drive with a similar warm tuning with beautiful mids and treble. I agree that the hobby can be an addiction. I’m waiting for a basshead planar that forces me to purchase it. It’s not out yet.. lovely vid and perspective.

About that lowmaster… you can just lower that 2khz peak with -3 or -4db, right?

Do you think you could review the Sennheiser HD 490 Pro eventually? It’s like an upgrade/refinement of the 560S and has two different sets of pads. Other YouTubers largely brushed over it, so your thoughts would be great considering how thorough you are.

Iems are the biggest scam and rabbit hole in the audiophile space.

I’ve had some fairly expensive iems, but for what they cost I’d still rather use my kph40 at a fraction of the cost.

For right now:
Ziigaat Doscinco = Ultra fun with refined V shaped meta
Thieaudio Hype 4 = Neutral with amazing soundstage
Dunu Davinci = Lush mids with relaxed treble
Can’t go wrong

Thank you. I really enjoy your videos and appreciate you sharing some really deep truths about how our quest for the perfect sound can actually diminish our musical experience.

As an analogy, some years ago I had the great blessing of being able to have Lasic eye surgery and ended up with better than 20/20 vision. It was miraculous to me. No glasses! My optometrist was as thrilled as I was with the results. After the exam I said to him that I was just supper happy with the way I see apart from the measurements. He said yes, I have a colleague that refers to it as 20/Happy vision. IF you can see what you need to and are not thinking about it much, then you are in a good place. Now I need to find my way to 20/Happy Hearing!

It boggles my mind there are so many IEM companies and that they manage to sell enough to stay in business

I only have 2 IEMs, and they're each over $2200. I probably overpaid, but I didn't want to be one of those goobers who owns 40+ pairs, lol.

EDIT: Oh Lord, I just saw another commenter has 40 IEMs. He probably thinks I'm a goober.
