Knitting Help - Twisted Knit Stitches

In this video, I cover everything you ever wanted to know about twisted knit stitches. When it's good, when it's bad, and how to easily correct a twisted stitch.

You can find more information about Knitter's Pride Marblz needles, as well as a retailer using these links:

In the video, I mention Combination Knitting, and Annie Modesitt's website. You can find more about Combination Knitting on her website here:

The yarn I use for demonstration is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky.

My silver ring is actually a knitting needle gauge, and can be found here:

The nail polish I'm wearing is by Julep, and isn't actually a color, but I like the way it looks. It's a nail treatment, called Oxygen Nail Treatment. It seems to help my nails grow, and prevents chipping and peeling:

I have been accidentally twisting my stitches and this has cleared up exactly what I was doing wrong. I have no idea I was going through the back loop instead of where I should have been. My stitches look so much better now

I know this video was made 8 years ago, but it's so helpful to someone like me who is teaching themselves to knit!! Thank you! 😊

You give such good explanations and use the correct terminology for all knitting styles. Some who think they are good teachers of knitting may mixing terms in knitting leading to confusion when written instructions obviously conform to these conventions. Stacy, you are just the BEST!

I've been so confused for years as to why my knitting looked off. Thank you for this video!

Well I knit an entire scarf with all the stitches twisted😅 this helped clear up why at least. Also appreciate that the applications of why you would do this on purpose are shown here too.

This is a timely video! I knitted a hat wherein the pattern specifically say for the rib - k1tbl, p1. I just followed the pattern not understanding why it should be k1tbl instead of k1. After finishing the rib, I favor thek1tbl, p1 combination rather than k1, p1. Your video just made it clearer for me the significance/effect of twisted stitches. :)

Oh, wow! I've been knitting for nearly twenty years now (since I was eight) and I never realized, but this is how I purl! I always wondered why my purling looked different from my knitting. I guess this is what happens when a right-handed person teaches you the knit stitch and a left-handed person teaches you the purl stitch, lol. Time to re-teach myself!

Stacie dear, once again, you excelled in yet another interesting demo.
This twisted knit demo intrigued me and I so enjoyed viewing it. Also liked the Knitter's Pride needle shown. Thank you.

Hello! I am wondering how this twisted knitting affect could be done in the round. Thank you! I always watch all your videos for any helpful hints.

I've done this it was horrendous and I couldn't figure out why it was happening. it was because I was purling and instead of. wrapping counter clockwise I was just picking it without wrapping. I figured out how to "fix" my twists by kbl! I blame the Knook for it, I learned to knit with it first and it was just easier lol

I do combination knitting. Superior. Norwegian via Arne & Carlos is also great and ergonomic. I'm training my hands to do both while I'm learning. I'm swatching 1x1 ribbing. Doing twisted rib in all kinds of ways.
