Each of these video game crossovers combined some of our favorite franchises and delighted us to no end. For this list, we’ll be looking at the best video games to combine our favorite franchises. However, we’re only looking at crossovers between IPs that were established in games first. We also aren’t including crossover events. Our countdown includes “Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney” (2014), the “Project X Zone” Series (2013-16), “Pokémon Conquest” (2012), “The King of Fighters” Series (1994-), and more! Smash Bros. has transcended from being a gaming crossover. With a few exceptions from Playstation and Valve just to name a few, I'd say its more of a celebration of video games. At this point if a series has a playable fighter in Smash Bros., its almost like a gaming hall of fame award acknowledging the significance of a franchise and how iconic the playable fighter is to the gaming community.

The crossovers I liked are Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games series, Super Smash Bros. series, and Mario + Rabbids. I was skeptical about that crossover at first, but once I saw some videos of it, it started to get very funny. I can’t wait for the sequel to come out soon!

Whenever Super Smash Bros first came out people were freaking out.
"You mean you can play as a Pokemon OR as Mario OR as Donkey Kong!?!?!"

Rabbids and Mario were actually legendary in of Nintendo. They have even announced a the brand new theme license crossover game.

Wish the marvel vs capcom series has earned a spot it was one of the best crossover games ever made. It dominated the arcades.

Smash Bros, starting with Melee, was me and my brother’s gateway into gaming and everything Nintendo and beyond. Truly our favorite gaming crossover, culminating with the three-year justifiable hype machine that is Ultimate.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was rumoured since 2016, before the switch even launched, I remember everyone was hating the idea of this crossover happening (mostly because of the Rabbids and how weird it sounded) then the game leaked a month early, people at the Ubisoft Milan team were pretty down because of the loud public saying this was weird and unnecessary.
Then E3 came and it wow-ed everyone, the game launched in August and became one of Switch's best games to date and definitely one of Ubisoft's best games in recent years!
Can't wait for Sparks of Hope later this year :)

My first crossover game that I've played is Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii in 2008, I was considering about the 3rd party characters in every series and not the fanmade based characters from Nintendo, but only Sonic and Snake had a roster part of Smash Rosters when Masahiro Sakurai made some announcement of E3 2008 to bring the companies both Sega and Konami make up a deal with Nintendo and Hal Labs. At the washateria I played Marvel vs. Capcom in my age of childhood gaming.
I played my favorite characters is Marvel and Capcom series franchise like Spider-Man and Mega Man. On the Game Trail I played Mario and Rabbids crossover by Ubisoft and Nintendo! The creators had team like Shigeru Miyamoto and Michel Ancel to make the crossover series with a spin off of Rabbids and then they did. They made the first series in 2017 and it was sold over 1 million units at stores near you! And finally I played Olympic games called Mario and Sonic series and it was my favorite sport games all the time throughout the years!
So that's how I began my favorite crossover games in the 2000s to 2020s!

Awesome. I totally agree that Super Smash Bros is the best video game crossover. Also love Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. Haven't played the other games on this list, though I fancy Mario + Rabbids.

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle Had no right to be as fun as it was. Like anyone else, I used to think the Rabbids were rather annoying, but now things are different. Really looking forward to Sparks of Hope when it comes out. 🐰

Top 3 (In my opinion):
1. Super Smash Bros
2. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
3. Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Easily super smash bros at number 1, being one of the best multiplayer games of all time, it's also one of my favorite games of all time. Unfortunately, I only see mario's crossovers being the best compare to the rest of them, however, playstation all star battle royale would've been a great video game crossover in my opinion cuz it has many different playstation video game characters all in one. I was going to put street fighter and Tekken in the Top 3, but Mario's crossover with rabbids had a unusual, but interesting gameplay, and I couldn't ignore it.
