They're not really training people to become CDL drivers..9 out of 10 CDL drivers don't know how to drive a manual transmission. You can identify them wearing flip flops.

When I acquired my cdl, I was taught with on the job training, which at that time, was working to get my permit, then driving with real truckers ( 5 years or more experience) till they thought I was ready for my license, then I did the road test, got my license, but they wouldn’t let you go until you were ready, which is, being proficient in all aspects of trucking, currently, I really don’t know anyplace that can do that anymore, even John Veriha Trucking … they really don’t have a good reputation with drivers in their area, (Marinette Wisconsin) … but who really knows
