This LG washer can do everything (except clean your clothes)

At $1,500, LG's WT7700HVA top load washing machine has a bunch of features, including a related app, but it isn't all that good at removing stains.

I purchased essentially the same washer a couple of months ago. Per my choice, I didn't want the model with steam.
I selected the LG because of the reviews on various store sites as well as consumer type sites. I picked it because it was said to be quiet, very reliable and is excellent at cleaning clothes. It also was said to be easy on your clothes.

It indeed is quiet. Has a huge capacity. I bought it for less than $900 delivered and hooked up. I also received a $50 rebate from the local water company.

As for cleaning, it is terrific. I previously owned a Maytag front load that failed and decided not to spend money on any repairs. I had no idea what a lousy washer it was. I had actually retired a number of light colored towels because I was not able to remove stains from them that had built up over time. I had used the soak cycle, the heavy soil/stain cycle. I tried Oxi, ammonia, vinegar, various detergents and non-chlorine bleach. Nothing worked.

Within two washings of all the towels, just using detergent and the normal towel settings, it has removed all those stains from all the towels.

If my washer is lousy at cleaning, I can't imagine how well a good washer does.

I am very happy with it and if my house burned down and I had to replace everything, I wouldn't hesitate for one second about buying this LG washer again.

When you figure out CNET reviews and recommendations are shit your life will improve

I don’t trust CBET reviews any longer. I gave this washer and it works just fine

This may be the worst review I have ever heard no substance at all

okay so I’m not crazy. I have the 7800 model and my clothes come out covered in lint, dust and weird residue. I keep thinking it’s something I am doing wrong but I been washing my laundry for at least 20 years now and never had a problem until I got this machine.

I've had this washing machine for three years and could not disagree more with this review. I will say that I've never used the app but as far as in this machine that being able to clean your clothes is not the case with my machine. Not only would I buy this machine again but I would highly recommend you get this washer. LG I expect the check in the mail

I don’t know why CNET is hatful towards a lot of stuff

I disagree.... I just bought one of these and it does a great job as compared to my old washer that had an agitator . Old washer, clothes did not circulate well at all, with this one they are pulled in and actually washed . I also work with a guy who bought a front loader and he says they suck even worse so having used this model for over a month, it actually does a great job overall

We’ve had 2 of these that came with the dwellings we lived in. Same experience, clothes don’t come out clean. Have been doing laundry for a household of 5 for 20 years and this was a first experience in anti-washing with digital features.

CNET is way off, my LG top loader cleans what i expected working from a home construction business, and i love how it cleans my dirty and stinky jackets.

You're really gonna rate the washer based solely on the app? Why not do a review on the machine itself? Oh wait... I'm thinking too much in terms of common sense. Goodbye.

Umm biased review. LG top loaders are the best on the market today for HE machines. Maybe if they knew how to operate it they wouldn't have a slander something that DOES clean your clothes.

If CNET would've bothered to read the manual, or used the app correctly, they would've found out that there are special cycles with presets in the apps for the stains they test on. Besides, who gets beet juice on their clothes on a regular basis? I have this washer and can confirm that is is the best one I have ever had. Their vacuum reviews are crap to. You don't buy a vacuum based on whether or not it picks up cheerios. Also, they tout the Shark Rotator, which has several attachments that cant be stored on the vacuum, but shame a Dirt Devil for having one that can't be. You buy a vacuum for quality, and deep down cleaning, and filtration, all of which CNET doesn't test.

It looks just the Samsung. Do they all clone each other? She's complaining about the app. The only thing the app needs to do is text you that the clothes are done.

Care to elaborate on how it didn’t clean the clothes that well?

I have an LG washing machine and it’s TERRIBLE. My clothes do not come out clean. Sometimes even worse- white shirts will have marks on them. And dark clothes can look dusty

performance of the washing machine I would say is mostly dependent on what detergent you use. this video seemed more of a review of the app.

all those programs and presets do is just vary how fast the cylinder rotates, for how long, temperature of the water,   that sort of thing, but all washing machines do just one thing. spin wet clothes around. I can't see how that common method could produce greatly varied results.
