In full: Keir Starmer addresses Labour party conference in major speech

Sir Keir Starmer will insist on Tuesday that there is “light at the end of this tunnel” in an attempt to convince the country and his party to put up with “short-term” financial pain.

In his first speech to the Labour conference since becoming Prime Minister, Sir Keir will warn he cannot lower taxes until he fills the spending “black hole” left by the Conservatives.

How can he stand there & say all pensioners will be better off? The winter fuel payments cut should’ve been incremental, ie reduced only by the same percentage by which a pensioner’s retirement income exceeds the threshold for pension credit, not this crazy all-or-nothing cliff edge. Now, any pensioner on an income of as little as £11350 a year (just £6.20 a year above the threshold) loses their entire winter fuel allowance and ends up being WORSE OFF than someone on pension credit. To implement it in such a clumsy, thoughtless manner reeks of incompetence, indolence and callousness. Maybe they miscalculated, expecting that pensioners living on around £11350-£12000 were expendable and would have nobody to stand up for them.

I went for a walk threw my park which has loads of trees in the past 3 days of our physical joke government allow weather engineering they made it rain constantly whilst blocking it from sun light for 3 days and they are still doing it right now the trees are now very sick dying and falling over as they are losing there strength and god knows the state of our farm land and stress put on our farmers. I don't know if any one realized but we can not survive with out food and trees that produce our oxygen we are now on the bring of disaster
