Can't decide on whether to get a Monster or Monster Lite rack? The decision can be pretty tough as at the end of the day they aren't that different... or are they? Let's talk about which rack might be best for you.

Building a monster rack gives you some up front options like height and swapping out upgrades but all this can be done in the RML if you ask.

You have no idea how perfect of timing this video is for me. Much appreciated 🙏

One advantage I don’t hear people talk about much, in reference to the Westside hole spacing on the Rogue ML racks, is precision safeties for squat. I get more of benefit from that versus benching. You can set your safeties an inch from the bottom of your squat. So, if you fail, you barely have go to further before it catches.

Rogue has marketing figured out. I have used smaller bolts than that on hydraulic vehicle lifts.

Great Video to go along with your series on choosing this one. I keep debating which one to get and this sort of comparison vid is really helpful. Question: One of the big accessory differences seems to be the Strap Safety connection. Do you prefer the easily removed RML ones or the "always on" RM ones?

you bald, beautiful man. i've been hemming and hawing between the two seemingly forever, even pricing them out and the price difference doesn't make a huge difference because i'm not adding a ton of accessories. i think in the end it feels like the FOMO if/when a new accessory comes out that i might really want and having to wait a good while for the Lite version seems more painful than the $50-100 premium. thanks for the video to put my mind at ease :)

I think having 1 inch holes like the Monster Rack would be more useful when it came to adding accessories. Why does it cost almost $400 more though? Is it because it's a pain in the ass to drill the bigger holes? If it's the same steel, I don't understand the significant different in price. Going from $755 for an RML-3 to $1145 for the RM-3. Then again, there are other areas in life where people are willing to pay a lot more for their preferred hole.

We’re going to be building out a garage gym soon and this is super helpful! Great video! The humor is also much appreciated😂

Great video Brandon. Do you miss the option of having the plate storage on the rack as in your previous setup?

Nice. I’m just now learning the difference after having my RML rack for 1 year.

It would have been nice to have the option of using accessories from other manufacturers, but had I known that last year I still would made the same decision because my budget is fairly limited.

If I went with the Monster series, I'd want it in 7 gauge metal thickness (I saw the 7 gauge Monster set-up at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL during CPPS Level 1 cert with Joe Defranco/Jim Smith) Unfortunately, I do not think Rogue offers the Monster series in a 7 gauge option anymore. I currently have a MonsterLite RML-490c and while it is MORE than adequate for my garage gym, with its 11 gauge thickness (like the current Monster 2.0 series) you can easily warp the uprights when tightening the bolts during the assembly process - you do not need to be super strong either to make this mistake. No way that will happen with a 7 gauge. (and yes, I know I don't need a 7 gauge... but this is 'Murica, right? RIGHT?!!!)

I’m looking at prime, ironmaster, and rogue half racks.

The good thing about rogue it's customizable, prime is uniquely designed / premium, and ironmaster is budget-friendly in a small form factor.

Monster over rml... The uhmw, numbers and extra accessories are worth it. Some of the attachments are only monster not just later. Utility seat, rotating chin bar have been out for a very long time... Several years so i doubt they will come out for rml at all. Have the rml now but wish i had gotten the monster.. The one inch hole spacing not a big deal to me since i have the westside bench. 1 inch holes do make a difference on bench for sure but isnt a deal killer.

Hi Brandon thanks for the review. I have my heart set on the HR-2 Half Rack as space is a bit of an issue. It adds nicely to my Bulgarian Bags, Maces, Clubs and heavy Deadballs. Probably get a bench and a swiss bar as well.

The reason I came here is because I was searching for the Monster Lite Half Rack review and saw you have one and also saw this. Figured I'd watch this first. I don't really have a preference vs. monster vs. monster lite.. But I have a limited space and Monster Lite Half Rack makes sense to me to have ability to store the plates and also still have it around that 4-4.5 foot depth... The only thing I see from the Monster Line that has an extra space for the weight plate holders is one where it's like a crazy 6 foot deep which is waaay too big for my space.

I found a Monster Lite cage for $500 on a moving sale! With some cheap bar and bench a few months ago‼️

Spot on breakdown on both racks. I went back and forth for months on these racks. You really got to look at what’s important and what will you use the most.
