Over compensating huh" lol. The diawia df100a is a large reel too. 33lbs drag. Can hold nearly 800 yards of 40lb braid. With a 35$ price tag. All aluminum.

I use the spinfisher Vl 8500LL for shark fishing in the surf. It's enough for most of the sharks seen in the surf. I mostly catch 75 to 150 lb black tips and spinners.

I've just bought the Spinfisher VI 10500 for surf casting in New Zealand, so for me it's perfect for what i'm using it for.

I have Penn battle III reels including a 10, 000 series which I have on a 15' sure rod yes its a heavy setup but when I go to OBX and Florida surf fishing let me tell you I'm really glad I have setups like these because when you hook into a big-ass and get it into shore it's totally worth it being a heavy setup.

I got a 10000 open face Penn reel works really good actually I got three of those reels and 1 9500 open face fishing reel I've had them for years and they are still in great shape and work good

I think Finnor Offshore 9500 is a bit bigger than the spinfisher 10500 and have more drag to tackle on big sharks off the surf

Would this be ok for surf casting off the beach? Planning on using it for baits with circle hooks, then putting it in a rod holder so I don't have to keep holding it all the time! Also any thoughts on casting distance with 50lb braid? and a 12' rod? Cheers

im about to buy the battle III 10000. here in Bolivar Peninsula we usually run our big rod lines out with a kayak because the big mommas arent really close to the shore like they are in FL.it would suck to have to cast this monster repeatedly from the shore lol but hey if the fish are there then you do what it takes

Can I use this on the beach in the uk as a 3 hook rig on a 6oz weight with fishing for cod bass aswell as sting rays with 301b mono line then a 60 1b shock leader on this ?
