The Ultimate Ultralight Baitcasting Reel: No Thumb Needed!

The Ultimate Ultralight Baitcasting Reel: No Thumb Needed with the Daiwa Salamandura Air TW with the Roro Spool TX25S! The jig was 1/16th oz and with the soft plastic together, it totals about 2.7 grams!

This is a great way for anglers who are new to baitcasting and want to practice casting. Eventually, the brakes can be reduced as one learns how to use their thumb for the initial cast as well for when they need to stop the spool at the end of the cast!

Note: this is not a cast to prove distance nor a tutorial. It's simply showing how capable this reel is if one understands how to configure their reels!

Want to learn how to setup your BFS Reel this way? Watch this video in how I tune my reels:

Finally a person who really uses his brain! Congratulations! First of all I appreciate you cast with your right hand and after this you keep the rod in the same hand using the left one for reel. The reel settings is absolutely corect! Good job! 😉👍

I used to just use spinning rods cuz it's all I knew but I've gotten really into fishing this year and I now realize why all u guys use BC, it's so much faster to get casts off and so crazy accurate, still a lot to learn tho

I just realized this yesterday, just find a sweet spot for the brake. No more backlash, doesnt go far as usual but NO MORR BACKLASH

Remember, without the correct rod to go with that reel, ultralight bait casting will make you hate using it.

You have to have the correct setups. I see a lot of ppl use medium- medium/heavy rod with 10lb plus line and wonder why they can’t cast a jig or something small.
Match the line and rod and it can be a great setup

I just got an okuma bait castor 3 days ago and I had to respool it 3 times first time too much line second time it was too tight not enough line and was one sided did the 3rd line today looks pretty good so far first reel had lots of birds nest but with a little patience and effort you’ll get it for sure I’m still getting it but imma get there 😂💯

This is just my opinion and to be clear I love my casting rods/reels that I have mainly for bass fishing. I have ultimate control and if you fish a lot your accuracy gets pretty deadly. But when I am finesse fishing with anything less than a 1/4 oz and sometimes 3/8 I am just more comfortable with a spinning rod. Maybe it's the feel of it beat into me over the years or confidence. I just think if you had two fisherman side by side target fishing and making long casts all with an 1/8 oz bait I bet the spinning rod will cast to more targets and will cast much much further on average

Back when dawia pro model reels were team dawia you couldn’t break them reels if you wanted to and the rods were good I got got all Larry nixion and Ricky Clunn team dawia rods and I still use them but for low profile you can’t beat shimano I run all chronarchs and chronarch mgl on jonnie morris platinum series rods or gloomis imx rods now don’t get me wrong I still use my Bantam curados cu200 that’s the greatest reel ever to be made I got 10 of them I love them dawia just ain’t the same as was 15 years ago

I think a lot of the confusion in the comments is coming from the fact that they didn't read the description. Since you never specified that you're talking about BFS reels in the short, they think you're talking about all baitcasters. Even though it should be somewhat obvious considering the size of the rod, line, and bait.
