#momvlog We recently returned from our time flying with baby! It was our first trip traveling with baby Miles that required airplane travel. Flying with little ones is something I think a lot of parents get nervous about. There is just so much out of your control which can be hard with babies and children who thrive on routine! I wanted to share our routine flying with a baby and sharing some of the travel with baby tips that worked for us!

Do I have a baby? No. Am I traveling anytime soon? No. Still going to watch the video? I sure am.

“ nobody is gonna die listening to a baby cry” hahah so true! ♥️

Don't check carseats! They get thrown around and jostled, often times with the same force as a car crash. It's also MUCH safer and MUCH easier to have baby properly restrained in the carseat on the plane. Most airlines will sell you a seat for half the price if you call and tell them it's for a baby. Think about it. If even the coffee pot is restrained when it's not in use, your child should be too.

Miles is so adorable! I’ve flown several times with babies/small children and after doing some research learned that it’s so much safer for the baby to have its own seat on the airplane and use their car seat on board. Checking a car seat can damage the plastic as you don’t see how it’s thrown around by the baggage handlers. Just something to think about for future trips.

Thank you for sharing this video. I’m traveling for the first time with my baby by myself and I’m so anxious about it. Best advice “no one died because a baby was crying next to them!” You’re so right- it’s life if it happens.

I still think it’s a great investment to buy the baby his/her own ticketed seat. I liked being able to keep our car seat with us and use it on the plane 😊☺️😊 The extra room is a lifesaver too!

My daughter made 7 months yesterday. We are flying next month and this is useful, since I am flying for the first time flying with a baby. New mom here.

I'm a 13 year old with absolutely no chance of having a baby, but I'm still going to watch every baby hack video just cause I love Miles so much. (And Kallie, too hahaha)

Southwest is the only airline that required birth certificate from my experience. I flew with United and American and none of them asked for it from me. But calling the airline ahead of time is a great idea.

I also agree with you, carrier is easier than stroller to use while going through the airport. Even while pregnant, it was easier for me to keep my toddler on me than the stroller.

Wow, really great job!!! I have flown with my 4-y/o about 10x in her life (first time 6 mos) and have NEVER been asked for a birth certificate! So sorry you had to deal with that! Truthfully, 6 mos is the easiest time to fly with baby (IMO) followed by the most challenging 1yr-2yrs, and then it gets easier again. My pediatrician OK’d using Benadryl if needed. I think we only used it 2x but it was a godsend. I have a list of my favorite Amazon toys for airplanes if you’d like! Also, I save lollipops and gummies exclusively for airplanes. That way she is so excited to have them and it’s super distracting. And with all this being said, if I have learned anything it’s that we have no control whatsoever! Both trips and baby’s behavior can be so unpredictable. I could have the best toys and the best plan but really what you need is to keep your sanity and patience and roll with everything. :)

Thanks for the heads up on the birth cert!

This was great! We will have a 7 month old the first time we travel as a family, so it's nice to see how this works. I was nervous about that. Thanks for the tips!

Thank you so much for this videos, it helped. My daughter will be 6 months old by the time I fly and I was clueless as a first time mom flying with a baby for the first time.

Miles eyes and smile are just captivating. I so enjoy your videos and especially the ones with Miles. I used to travel with my daughter 45 years ago and it was a great experience. I'm with you when you say to not stress. That helps baby relax. Excellent videos.
