This video is about travel vaccinations and which ones we took, and how we organized our records for world travel. We describe some of the common vaccinations such as yellow fever, Hepatitis A and B, rabies, Japanese Encephalitis, Cholera, Malaria, Typhoid, Meningitis and some other vaccines you should be current for as adults. We discuss some of the symptoms and transmission methods, where you might need them and the cost of the vaccinations.
Remember to always check with your doctor on which vaccinations are best for your situation and the places you will be traveling.
We also share the cost of each vaccination to help with your trip planning.

Travel vaccinations are crucial for several reasons, but always check with your doctor about each vaccination, where you are traveling and what is best for your personal situation.

1. Prevention of Diseases: Many countries have diseases that are not prevalent in other parts of the world. Vaccinations protect travelers from contracting these diseases, which they may not have immunity to.

2. Personal Health: Vaccinations safeguard individual health by reducing the risk of contracting serious diseases during travel. This is especially important for individuals with weakened immune systems, such as the elderly or those with chronic illnesses.

3. Preventive Measures: Vaccinations not only protect the individual but also help prevent the spread of diseases from one region to another. This is particularly significant for diseases that are highly contagious.

4. Legal Requirements: Some countries require travelers to show proof of certain vaccinations upon entry, especially for diseases like yellow fever. Failure to comply with these requirements can result in denial of entry or quarantine measures. We have had to show our Yellow Fever card several times during our travels.

5. Peace of Mind: Knowing that you are protected against potentially harmful diseases can alleviate anxiety and allow travelers to fully enjoy their trips without worrying about falling ill. It is better to be safe than sorry.

6. Public Health Responsibility: Getting vaccinated before travel is not only a matter of personal health but also a responsibility towards public health. By reducing the risk of contracting and spreading diseases, travelers contribute to global health efforts.

7. Risk Reduction: Traveling to certain destinations may expose individuals to diseases that they would not encounter in their home countries. Vaccinations help mitigate these risks and ensure a safer travel experience.

8. Long-Term Protection: Some vaccinations provide long-term protection against diseases, offering immunity even after returning from the trip. This can be especially beneficial for individuals who frequently travel to regions where certain diseases are endemic.

In summary, travel vaccinations are essential for safeguarding personal health, preventing the spread of diseases, complying with legal requirements, and contributing to global public health efforts.

Super-helpful video, thank you! In the U.S., Hep A & B vaccines were covered by our insurance through our doctor's office (the pharmacy would've charged--even though some vaccines, like shingles, can only be given at the pharmacy, go figure). We got the typhoid vaccine at a travel clinic here but held off for much lower prices on the rabies and Japanese Encephalitis vaccines at a travel clinic in Chiang Mai (well before setting off for higher-risk areas/activities).

Congratulations ! I noticed that you guys have 100k subscribers now. I been sharing your videos to my friends and relatives because I know they will benefit from your videos. Very informative! I am also very concerned about health issues and I do check these vaccines before going somewhere. I rather spend my money on vaccines than suffer from any illnesses. Thank you for all you do ❤
