Thanks Dom. Using native plugins makes our projects more portable, so I have been moving back to the plugins I already bought when I bought Cubase!

here's a bonus tip: Use this great flexible onstock Deesser for "Bass" tracks - with the freely adjustable filter band you can use it on lower frequencies too!

At the age of 67 you have a natural de-esser built in. I hardly can hear any difference 😂
But I'm sure that the better ears are appreciating this video.
Dom, thanks a lot for your very, very useful hints around cubase❤

Thank you so much! This was a real eye-opener. I thought that its side-chain worked the same as a typical compressor. So, yeah... I was using it incorrectly. BTW, I love these short, single issue videos.

Some serious T-Shirt changes there :) The green one could have done with a touch more gain reduction ;) Like the purple though. Great vid. really useful explanation. didn't know that level of control in the stock plugin was available. will take another look. thx

Like. Love. and Like, again!

I prefer the Cubase De-Esser over the others I've used, but I have been plagued by the over compressing of the range I needed the focus in. Until now, I've - incorrectly - assumed what the De-Esser's sidechain settings were intended for.
Cannot thank you enough for the 'tutorial'/explanation of it's little hidden superpower - it's quite literally the foundation to a solution I've been puzzling for a while.

Appreciate all the knowledge you share, and the possibilities you encourage others (in this instance; me) to nourish and grow.

Thanks Dom for this great tip. I just tried it on my HiHat and Lead Bus and it works very well. For vocals, I prefer to edit the track manually.

Thanks Dom! I've used the de-esser to get rid of nasty bass thumps, but monitoring to find the exact frequencies is a really helpful tip!

Thanks for this one! Even without the auto button it still worked like trash but the side chain is gold.
