Here's how I fixed my squeaky kitchen faucet knob. The handle was squeaking so loud and I didn't know it was such an easy fix. Be careful if your valve is stuck, the plastic can be fragile and you shouldn't use pliers to pull it out. I used a flathead screwdriver to push mine up slowly. At the end of the video, I included a little clip showing how to remove handles too. Thanks for watching!

When you replace the screw, turn it counter-clockwise until you hear and feel it drop ths screw in as usual. This way, you will be matching the original threads in the plastic, less likely to strip out the threads in the plastic stem.

Yes this fix didn't work for me either. The valve is two large plastic pieces. Where they meet, there's friction. Remove the assembly, and twist while holding, and you can feel the friction. I fixed mine by using a tin foil washer I made by cutting tin foil about the size of a nickle, carefully cutting a hole in the center and putting down over the shaft on the horizontal edge where the two pieces meet. Perhaps a commercial washer exists this size and thin. Mine is very quiet now. What a crappy design. I think they need a thin washer is all where the pieces meet. I also used a tiny dab of silicone grease. Quieter than the cold side now. Water doesn't flow over the parts that get greased.

Thanks! Great video. Didn't know about plumbers grease. How long will it last, start squeaking again?

Does the grease contaminate the hot water?
