How Ellen Ripley Ties into Alien Romulus!!

Alien Romulus includes an easter egg that involves Ellen Ripley on the Space Station. At the end of Alien, she was in cryo in the Narcissus Shuttle, after blowing up the Nostromo, and pushing the Xenomorph out of the air lock. But what was she doing on the Romulus space station?!?! Lets compare the easter egg to the novel Alien Out of the Shaddows.

If she was really captured and held at Romulus, but not awoken, it would mean that the company did not want her conscious at the time for whatever reason.

Out of the shadows takes place after, so it may be ash that launches the ship before the renaissance station is destroyed.

This explains how Rook knew the Nostromo had one survivor, and why Ripley drifted off course for so long, she had been picked up by the company, kept in Cryo at the station until the events of Romulus blew her ship out into space again.

It's not just an Easter egg. Rook tells the story of how Ripley' ejects the alien out of the airlock. She doesn't tell that story until the movie Aliens. So how does Rook know that? The shuttle is docked at this station and they have downloaded all of the shuttles logs, including her personal log which tells the story.

If she was really there, maybe they never woke her up because the alien was loose on the station. Her being there could explain why Rook knows so much in detail. In Promethus, we saw David looking into peoples dreams/memories. Maybe Rook was able to do the same and thats why he knows so much.
As long as they never woke her up from cryo sleep, I'm fine with this new addition. Doesn't really change anything majorly to the story of Riply, just an interesting detour in her 50 year lost in space voyage.

That's not Ripley but same shuttle inside Renaissance Space Station. I believe Rook send something back to Weyland wheather the Xenomorph or Black Goo.

Weyland Yutani orbital facilities and vessels were all equipped with Lock-Mart Starcub shuttles like the Narcissis. I just interpreted that as being standard transportation for the station.

The morphic capabilities harvested in this film are leading us to The Thing (Carpenter) as well. Cool I think, Alien - Predator- The Thing. Quite a showdown.

even WY finding that chrysallis thing is a huge stretch of credibility..all the life pod Narcissus would record is Ripley opening & closing the airlock then firing the engines. it wouldn't have track which direction the alien went off in. but somehow in the infinite (that's INFINITE meaning it goes on forever) they found that pebble the alien made for itself as it drifted through space.
make more sense if the xeno was still attached by the grapple hook to the shutlle. then WY track and find a lifeboat that's shouting out for help..take the alien..then just go "oh screw Ripley she blew up our ship" and they just set her adrift again..at least it makes some sort of sense.
the more I ponder on this movie the emptier of actual story it seems.
instead of all the "fan service" create your own story..there's an infinte universe for the xeno to explore after all..
plus that engineer/xeno hybrid is terrible..looks like it was shoved in at the last second and wasn't properly finished..people laughed in the cinema when it turned round to grin at the camera..😳

If it is Ripley's, and not another escape shuttle. WY likely only powered it up to get whatever files were on board set a course for it to disappear and left it closed, due to the fact the harpoon gun was still wedged in the door when a salvageable crew found her.

Could be that stations and larger ships have a protocol whereby when MUTHUR/OS detects that the any shuttles or pods still docked would be destroyed unless ejected in time, just in case there are any survivors on them, to give them the best chance of survival.
