Impressive. Difficult to be sure via YouTube, but I thought the percussion at the start of the video sounds better from the NAD/FX Audio, but the vocals later sound better from the SMSL.

smsl is very impressive for it's size. NAD sounds great. Both are good options depending on your situation. But overall, how do you beat the SMSL for size and price? Well, I bought Topping MX3 because it has fantastic headphone output too.

It would be a better comparison if the AD18 was also connected to the FX AUDIO DAC X6. Then we have the answer which amplifier is better.

Guys, it's simply impossible to judge anything from a recorded video of an amplifier, played on one pair of speakers, that went thru some microphones with their own frequency & dynamic responses curves and probably not idealy positioned, in a room that has some not ideal acoustic relfections & reverberations, not to mention the speakers are almost against the walls here, then recorded to some digital media so with some ANALOG to DIGITAL conversion, then coded in a video, then played back onto your own device whatever it is, smartphone, computer, and so on... there is simply no point unless someone gives us at least his impression on the device itself, that's all you can judge in a video of an audio device. It's nice to share this but would have made more sense if you would have given us your impressions about the power, dynamic, stereo image and so on. But thanks for sharing.

I'n thinking about buying the SMSL or a used NAD. In this video the NAD sounds *way* better then the SMSL. Do you think it sounds better because of the DAC? or the NAD himself sounds better then the SMSL?
