Do you want to know what happens when you have a mammogram or breast screening?
Watch me have my mammogram as part of my breast cancer follow-up.

The first thing that happens is that my breast is between two x-ray plates from top to bottom. It only lasts for a couple of seconds.
Does the mammogram hurt?
It feels like a sharp pinch because I my breasts is dense.

Then the breast is flattened from side to side.
The whole thing only takes a couple of minutes to do.

I just did mine for the first time. I was not prepared for how painful and uncomfortable it was. I’m glad it was fast but the pain would truly deter me from getting another scan..

My breast cancer did NOT show up on this 3D machine. In fact, it allowed it to go undetected for the 2 - 3 years I depended on that new machine. Prior to that, I always had a mammogram followed by ultrasound. I had pain in my nipples that brought me to the doctor 4 months prior to my next appointment. It was the ultrasound that found the cancer … not the 3D machine, not the MRI.

I got my results right away with my 3D diagnostic mammogram. All clear no evidence of disease.

The machine is not painful anymore. It has been improved a lot in the past 3 years.

It’s when it says squeezes twice flattened between two plates makes me never want to have one. Just pointing out you terms scaring some folks away from the machine

My Dr found a small lump and has scheduled me for a mammogram. I'm not going to lie... I'm petrified. I've never had a mammogram. My friend had breast cancer a few year's ago and had to get her breast remove.

I know some people say some tests don’t hurt but for some they do so The one that says mammograms don’t hurt not always true I heard that with Pap smears and said if they hurt you must not tolerate pain well, I would rather have a mild headache than take anything for it I will go 80% to 90% with the pain than to dull it and I will try to sleep with pain hoping it will disappear doing night but nope. I know one time I had food poison but refused to go to the doctor or hospital It was the most miserable pain I had. I didn’t take any medication for it I prayed to my heavenly father to help me get through the pain because no way I wanted to go to the hospital.

Had it done two days ago and this time it wasn't as painful as the last five times

yes it's, so painful, i done two weeks ago, and i will do USG 24 August this month i am a bit nervous.
