Is it necessary to change the timing change? Mine was doing almost 150000km mileage. Had no epc light symptoms regarding to timing chain failure. But i noticed there was a small leak at the lower cover. Thinking just to change the cover only.

Can you replace the cover without putting the car in service position on an A5 2013 1.8 tfsi? It is the cjeb engine.

Hi - Do you replace the timing chain without putting the vehicle into service position? Good channel btw.

Yup that's a pain in the ass. I recently replaced the cover and it leaked about immediately. Second round I had to scuff up the surface to get the old sealant out. It was solid almost everywhere except the bottom part. Nightmare, scuffing it up must be the trick

Hello i have a golf 7.5 gti 2017, i Need to replace the lower timing cover, so i Need to remove the crank pulley, but i see that the pulley its keeping the timing chain in position, so you need a tool(a special bolt)to keep it lock while you do the job, the question Is:i can remove the pulley and then put that bolt into the crankshaft while i change the cover?or i Need to buy the tool
