I could tell the 1st girl has serious anxiety around hugging people. It's definitely ranks low on her love language. However, just the thought of not hugging my mom brings out pure emotions for me. I do hope she has learned to at least overcome that part of her anxiety.

I’am not much of a hugger myself, but I’ll hug my mother any time. I haven’t seen my mother in over 3 years. I live in Florida, she’s in Texas. I personally don’t like touching people is my problem🤷🏽‍♂️. And I don’t like shaking peoples hands. I’ve seen enough to shut all of that down. Men using the bather, then walk right out. After peeing, and taking a crap, heck no.

Sometimes a hug is cringy no matter who it is. Being a very sensitive empathic person, I feel more than most people. Sometimes people are energy vampires or dumpers and it's best to not hug or you will not feel good during or after. You know what I'm saying if you are a sensitive, please don't tell her or anyone to touch if it doesn't feel right to them. Thank you for being aware and accepting of our differences.

I feel bad for that first girl. Who knows why she doesn’t like hugging? Who knows if she has severe trauma that causes her to just hate touch altogether? She asked for help getting her mom to stop forcing her to hug everyone at her family gatherings, and he just blasted her.

well, growing up in a huge family was brilliant. There was so much love and care. However, we never hug or talk about any feelings. Fast forward, I wanted a long term relationship and I found my amazing husband who really wants hugs. Now I love hugs. Give it practice and do it for yourself baby girl, very soon you could be on the other side❣

I was very much like this young lady in my youth. Then before I knew it, my mother started to mentally and physically decline. Those days pasted much too quickly, and now I look back and regret, not hugging her, and being more affectionate when I had every opportunity. Some of those painful lessons are often learned when it’s too late. She was one of 13 children and her parents never had time to give each child affection. That’s what she learned and showed me by no fault of her own😢💕

The young lady who does not feel comfortable hugging ( even her mother) should be respected of her feelings, her personal space. She never said she did not love or respected her mother or others who want a hugs. She may not be an affectionate person.

I’m similar to the first girl. I think hugging is cringe, I’m also very self conscious and insecure so hugging isn’t the best, if I was there I would tell her, that you don’t hug for you, you hug for the people you love. They need to know you love them and a good way to do that is to hug. Sometimes we sacrifice what we do and how we act for people we care about. I hug my brothers and sisters and mom because I know that we need that connection.

Steve Harvey was hilarious when he told that daughter to disconnect the battery. It is super hard to tell your own elderly mother or father to stop driving when they are super unsafe on the road, from my own personal experience. I'm glad Steve had insight re: that.
