Gas Transport

In this video, Dr Mike explains the 2 ways that oxygen (O2) can be transported around the body;
- Dissolved in plasma (1-2%)
- Bound to haem in haemoglobin (98%)

And the 3 ways that carbon dioxide is transported around the body;
- Dissolved in plasma (10%)
- Bound to globin of haemoglobin (20%)
- As bicarbonate ion (HCO3-) (70%)
