In this video I explain why we often add a vignette to our images then I explain why in some instances, applying a Radial Filter is superior to the "Effects" vignette in Lightroom. Finally, I demo how it's done.

I learn something new evey time I watch your videos. I never knew I could free transform the radial filter.
I learnt how to use Lightroom from your channel and have referred quite a lot of my friends on to here as well.
Your pace and patience is commendable. Thankyou Anthony. Keep up the good work :)

Anthony lovely tutorial and I love your approaches and please keep them going for lightroom CC Classic. You had this dark brown bar on the left however could not crop it out because the eagle needs space to the left. Could you have first pulled in a rectangular graduated filter to negate the left side darkness. Then your radial filters could have snuffed out this dark asymmetric vertical dark brown stripe.

Regardless you did show us how to place a round or oval pool of light be it small medium or large anywhere on our canvas and that is liberation when done right!

Very good! I ALWAYS get so much from your videos, and I’ve revisited them time and time again! Now a funny story. I was shooting the Ferris wheel at the Florida state fair two days ago. A night shoot to capture the multi colored lights. While I was adjusting and checking and all such things we do as we shoot I heard, “ Mr. Photographer, Mr. Photographer “. Seriously now, I turned around and looked from side to side trying to find YOU! Of course they were hailing me, BUT I was looking for you!

I live on a lake with several resident eagles. Perhaps I can get some great shots and edits like

I really need to use the radial filter more. Very powerful. Thanks!

I sometimes put a radial over the eye and raise the whites and add some sharpening to the radial. It makes the eye stand out a bit more.

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of Lightroom with your followers! I have learned a great deal from you. I do have a question though on the radial filter. I hope you can help. How do you reposition one of the 4 handle/pins on the circle/oval edge? This is not done by moving the entire filter right or left, up or down. It is only moving the pin on the edge. I have done this before, but I don’t recall how I did it! An example would be if I just wanted to move the middle right 3 o’clock handle to 2 o’clock using a Mac? Do you know this tip? 🤔

Very nice tutorial, thanks. Question: How do you get the tool panel to jump out and zoom by itself? You did it with the Effects Panel and the Radial Filter panel

I hope you've been able to stop by our zoo recently since they've put both the polar bears and snow leopards together. When you catch'em at the right time you can get some pretty unique shots.
