This is such an important and often overlooked part of the story! Between Jesus’ death and resurrection, He did something powerful and profound—He descended to the dead, or as it’s sometimes called, the “Harrowing of Hell.” This isn't just about what happened on Earth; it's about the spiritual victory He achieved. Jesus went to the realm of the dead to proclaim His victory over sin and death to the souls that were captive, offering them the chance for redemption.

As we read in 1 Peter 3:18-20, He "made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits." This was Jesus declaring that He had conquered the power of death and hell itself, preparing the way for all who would follow Him. It's a crucial moment that reveals God’s deep love for every soul—no one is beyond His reach, not even those who had passed before.

This is why we can say with confidence that when He rose on the third day, He wasn't just defeating death in a physical sense, but spiritually, He had already won. What an amazing Savior we have!
