BEST INTERIOR DESIGN KITCHEN TRENDS 2023 | Julie Khuu

In today’s video, I am breaking down the best interior design kitchen trends of 2023. I have been seeing all of these features in designer kitchens over the last decade and they are finally making their way into the mainstream. I don’t consider any of these trends “trendy” as I do believe each of these details can be combined to create a classic and timeless kitchen design.

Do you agree with my list? What “trends” do you think have the most staying power? Which do you consider just a fad? Comment below!

I may be biased, but I find ALL of these ideas pretty timeless and less “trendy” with a short lifespan.

Next kitchen will definitely house my dream coffee station! If money were no object, what little luxuries would you want in your dream kitchen?

Negative on under the counter open shelf, can you imagine with toddlers or pets. But love your content, this is my favorite design channel.

Julie I just want you to know how much I thoroughly enjoy all of your videos! I’m in the process of having a townhouse built that I will be closing on the end of this month. I’ve learned a lot about design and styles from watching your videos! Thank you so much for putting this content out!

I just finished putting in a coffee and tea station in my kitchen and I LOVE it! It is at the end of the kitchen area, so it can be used without having to actually come into the kitchen. I set it up also with filtered water for drinking, or for filling the electric kettle or espresso machine. It has really improved the kitchen and hardly cost anything!

I am IN LOVE with your tiled vent hood photos!! So amazing and they look like kitchens from old European homes. I don't feel it's a trend, though, it just shows you had enough funds to finish the kitchen off correctly. So beautiful.

When I lived in Northern Cal we had our cabinet doors removed and taken to a spray shop. I was horrified by what the lower shelves in our island looked like after just 10 days. Thick, greasy dust settled on our pots and pans. This was just from everyday use, there was no construction going on in the house. I shudder to think of the dirt that would have been kicked up had we worn shoes in our house or if there were pets. Open lower shelves are a no-go for me. Thanks for the videos, Julie, keep them coming!!

We recently completed our full gut kitchen renovation and we included a dedicated coffee station with a beverage fridge. I can tell you, it’s life changing! I enjoy it so much making my morning coffee, afternoon tea or simply having easy access to juice containers from the beverage fridge, without having to access the big fridge. It’s my number 1 timeless luxury in my new kitchen. 😊

Really like the idea of the mini shelf above the tile. Any other kind of open shelving is a definite no for me. Too much maintenance and cluttered looking. This video was perfectly timed, doing a mini refresh right now.

I painted my base cabinets a beautiful rich oliveover a year ago and I love it! My uppers were already old white. So so pretty together. I am obsessed with the green and warm woods! Such a wonderful breath of fresh air since the massive white and grey trend.

Happy Monday Julie, 🙏 Thank you so much for this video. I'm an Interior Designer who started back in the '90s but, because of some major health issues I've not been practicing for over 8 years so. So it's really a refreshing to watch your video. I'm glad I found your channel and it just gives me a refresher what's new be and going on now. Definitely gets the creative juices flowing again. Thanks and have a great day. What stuck out to me was the use of colored cabinets I have a 16 and 1/2-year-old house that we custom built with beautiful cherry cabinets raised panel cherry cabinets . I could see the use of having my island sink breakfast bar area painted in the olive mossy green that matches the veining in my stone inspired porcelain 18×18 tile floors. Anything but white cabinets again. They've used them at nauseam, so it's refreshing to see the use of other colors used in a kitchen. Thankfully we have 10 ft ceilings as well as five large windows as well as a French door off the kitchen that brings in lots of light so t, If We went with a green paint color around that area along with the existing cherry cabinets, it doesn't make it look dark. Take care 🙏💐🌅

I love this video! My fave is the stone ledge. Also the dog dish filler. Thank you Julie! 😊

I took a pretty butlers cart, put it in my sunroom, adjacent to the kitchen and made a coffee station. It works perfectly and doesn’t take up any needed space on the kitchen counter.

Decorating with green as a baseline, always worked well for me in various spaces I've occupied. I find it easy to decorate certain spaces with various mixed black and white prints, like stripes and checkered patterns, as well. Great video!

Great video! I disagree, though, about the statement slabs. I find those to be gaudy even now and I think in 5 or 10 years they are going to look really dated. I think of timeless styles as ones that are subtle and adaptable to different eras…that big veined slab look is too specific.

LOVE these ideas! It gave me clarity on the next big project - painting the cabinets and island. I've been wanting to go with a sage green on the cabinets with warm wood counters, and a darker island but I'll keep the white countertop (I think). The pot fillers for pet bowls are a big yes, and the water filling station is genius. We were talking about putting in a coffee area but seeing what you had in the video solidifies that fleeting thought into full-steam-ahead mode. Girl, you're dangerous for my reno budget!

As always, you make the best videos! I love the sage-colored European vibe kitchen cabinets, the "mini" ledges, and a coffee station.

Absolutely amazing and timely episode for us as we just bought a house. I really love the beautiful ideas you have presented here. I occasionally watch the lone wolf as well and he does inspire. Thank you Julie, I appreciate your sense of aesthetics, you are posh and polished but not pompous!

Great vlog as always Julie. We recently redecorated our living room and used green as the accent colour. It’s a really calm, comforting colour. I love the sconces and the idea of displaying beautiful artwork in the kitchen.
