Rough cut stone is a HORRIBLE design choice for kitchens! Impossible to clean. The kitchen is the LAST place it should be!

I've been planning a kitchen remodel for a while now. I'm definitely leaning towards French Country style. I plan on incorporating a natural stone wall, wooden beams, hutch style uppers with glass doors and painted cabinets. I'm still undecided on sink, counter tops, and pantry. Thanks for sharing this! 💯 ❣️

One has to be extremely neat to have exposed pantry or glass door on a fridge.
One has to love constant dusting to have rough-cut surface in the place you prepare food in.

Awesome ideas. I wish I had the budget to bevel the edges in my kitchen. It’s the only thing I wish I had done differently.

Wonderful video- and so well done with the images. I really would have a hard time to say which of the elements I prefer. I suppose I do like the idea of the layers in general (so multiple textures- whether two kinds of paint for cabinets, two different countertop materials etc). I love very much the creative countertop edges. I am planning to use this element in my kitchen renovation (and just finished doing this for my coffee table renovation- had a slate slab cut and included detailed edge which I would like to use in kitchen). I have a kitchen that is open to the living room and dining area (loft like)- and this great space has windows from counter level to ceiling across the whole way around the room- so no possibility of upper cabinets anywhere (think continuous windows wrapping all the way around room. It also has huge stone cut squares that act as a ledge under the windows all the way around (actually these windows wrap around the entire top floor of house). This leaves me only one wall in kitchen area that is partitioned and so can have cabinets. Because the views around the rest of the room are breathtaking- I could not have a built- in cabinet wall to store fridge/stove etc. I needed to have something magnificent on the 'one' wall without windows. So I did buy an antique hutch with metal mesh cupboards- almost 3 meters tall. So it made designing the place to house fridge and stove tricky...but well worth figuring out how to push that constraint! That said- it seems that my kitchen has all the layer elements coming together naturally- huge wood beams in ceiling- stone walls & ledges- and so when I incorporate more of the details on your list- I am hoping it will be quite something! :)

Im going to vote a BIG heck NO on the exposed pantry lol - I have 3 kids, 3 pets and no way would I want to add the stress of keeping that perfect - Maybe when the kids move out - stil not even sure I'd want to do it then!

All I see with anything open shelving is more space for dust to collect.

Lots of the design ideas are for the look but not practical. You’ll know if you are really cooking in your kitchen.

How to clean the greasy built up on the stone wall in the kitchen? 😂

These kitchens are harmonious and beautiful, yet becoming so predictable and therefore boring and unoriginal. Social Media teaches us, and trains our eyes, which is great, but at the same time removes freshness and discovery from our lives. This design, unfortunately, is for people who have the money to buy anything they want. So they buy anything to make sure they are not like the rest of us. A middle American wouldn't be able to afford even half of that kitchen, and the top 1% removes materials from the environment to purchase another trendy thing every 10 years. People do whatever you want in your homes so that you are happy. You don't have to be like the rest or like the 1%. Utilize harmonious designs, natural materials (if you can afford them), use colors you enjoy, and pay attention to details, but don't follow these trends. No matter how beautiful these kitchens are, they will become dated, just like the expensive kitchens and bathrooms of the early 2000s and 2010s. Your 1990s kitchen can be updated, invest in things that you don't already have like wallpaper, art, wooden table, safer appliances, but geez don't rip out your kitchens just to look like these kitchens, which will become outdated too.

My kitchen island extension is a bar cart that is usually in place beside my stove, but then moves over to the table for serving food if there's a need. That's all I have room for, and it works really well.

Not a fan of range hoods, especially in smaller kitchens. They are just too weighty, and don't really add anything as a decor element.
