I guess it would be a tradeoff between overheads of going verticle in a city center; I would have guessed it was cheaper to ship in from rural areas, land in cities is not cheap.

Love the idea. They are the closest solution to space colonization and astronauts feeding necessities. I could invest on stocks for this company eyes close.

There isn't a word about the energy needs of such a construction. The carbon footprint is massive of this technology. Also, we don't know the nutrition value of the products in a fully artificial environment, totally lacking sunlight. How much chemicals and fertilizers are used in there too? I am not convinced.

We are getting higher and higher requirements in selecting lamps. Now it is the age of technology. Everything is already smart. Our lights are becoming more and more intelligent. You can imagine using mobile phones. Adjust the brightness and spectrum of the lamp? This is the new product we are pursuing.

Plants use a certain spectrum of light for growth and flowering! Also let say taller plants are grown would this system still be effective!

An even more efficient way (and economical) would be to build sea-based platforms, no? Electricity could even be produced by kinetic energy produced by waves. Out-water filtered with vortexers, CO2 emissions captured and re-used to grow algaes. This is really cool field to be involved in!
