The grudge keeping tends to make them very petty, an example is that in the book, there is a grudge against the empire’s province of Ostmark due to the fact they were 2 pennies short after paying the dwarfs to construct a fortress

Dwarfs do have access to magic, can use it too (not common due to high risk tho); Rune magic is the way of trapping winds of heavens into metal form. Aside from that anvil of doom for example with specyfic rune can basically call lighting onto enemies of dwarfs.

If i remember correctly, Keep in mind! With the ones they are friendlier with, like the humans of the Empire, Death is NOT necessary to settle the grudge. Gold, Oath or some pints of Blood will do to settle any wrong doing. Unless the perputrator fucked up big time. Like the time that a human village Refused to fully pay the missing two Coins for the help that they recieved from the dwarves.
