They were frightening in First Phase, but after 3rd Phase, Drill Instructors were some of the funniest people I’ve ever dealt with.

They’d try to make you laugh and smoked you on the quarterdeck if you lost your bearing.

I remember seeing this recruit. I watched Ears Open Eyeballs Click before I joined the Corps. Looking back like wow. It was the longest 5 years of my life and now its over. And its already been a year since I been out. Time flies as you get older. For you guys in the Corps that are itching to get out, no one can stop time abd eventually you will be your times with the guys you serve with and stand up for yourself when need be. You are a Man before anything else. Marines don't let stupid Marines take advantage of them. But also know the difference between tradition, paying for your action and being someone elses entertainment (mainly for my 03 guys). Rah

Lmao. Something similar happened to me in boot camp. I was sweeping and my SDI came in and I reported my post saying there are no recruits on deck sir. He said what are u. I said 1 recruit on deck sir. He said who’s in the head. I said 2 recruits on deck sir. I swear after that I lived on the quarter deck

hahaha, gotta love bootcamp! Never will forget it, even as it's been 25 years since graduation, I can still hear the screams, the yells, and every thing attributed.

Gotta love moments like the first part of the video. After everyones kinda settled into the recruit schedule and the genuine light-hearted mistakes are free game for DI's to have "fun" with. There were many great moments like that where you couldnt laugh at or the DI has to cover their face with their campaign cover and gives you like 2 1/2 seconds to smile
