This video shows you three ways to vertically grow cucumbers. It will save you space, cut back on disease and increase the production of the plants. Tomato cages, a chicken wire trellis, a standard fence and even an apple tree are great ways to grow your cucumber vertically.

Thanks. I have one on pollinating somewhere. I use the sunken containers as a way to manage weeds, space and just put the good stuff where the plant is. The sunken container gardens are like mini raised beds. The heat up a little more and have better drainage. The also have the holes cut out in the bottom so the roots can get into the ground and get moisture.

Going to attempt to create the triangular trellis today. I have developed a profound respect for farmers :0) People, Americans especially have little clue as to the labor intensity involved in growing and maintaining crops. Thanks for your succint perspective and thoughtful post.

They love the trellis. I cant recall without watching the video again what trellis I showed. But all the varieties did nicely. My Armenian cucumbers swamped the trellis and took it down. I had to reinforce it. Of course, it had 4 plants growing on it... and I new it would probably happen. Extra bamboo down the middle is good idea too.

Helpful video. I planted 2 cucumber plants beside a zucchini plant. This was fine when they were seedlings, but I'm now in a "pickle" since they are growing vertically. This morning, I gently undid (as best as I could) the tendrils, and will absolutely reposition them to grow vertically. I really appreciate this video, since your structure may work best for my narrow space.

You have a beautiful yard. I'm sure you take much pride in it. This is my 2nd year of attempting a Veggie garden. Last year was a fail but I am hoping that with each passing year, I will learn more and more. I just came in from planting my cucumbers, squash and red cabbage. I only have a 9'X4' space to use so I will be using the tomato cages for the cucumbers. Thank you for taking the time to make the videos to help us newbies out.

Thanks for watching. Not so much a problem but it does happen. I am out there enough looking for pests and disease that I push the cuke through the wire when needed. RIght... in 2 day like a weekend away I have found cukes wedge in the wire.

I have a melon mixed in there too. I suggest wrapping any pumpkins that grow in pantyhose. You can tie it to a limb and it will support the pumpkin. Strange site yes... but it works.

Old bed mattress inner springs make a great trellis and look good when they rust.Love your channel.

Just away to grow them in a semi raised bed. The bottoms are mostly cut out for root growth. You can focus all the good soil and stuff right to the pot and save some money.

Great idea for my peas and cucumbers, I only have a 12x12 size garden, and in the past my cucumbers would take over the entire garden with only 2 plants....soo now I can plant in containers vertical with plenty of room for my tomatoes....thx for sharing.
