Kyokushin is harder to pronounce, which obviously makes it superior in the field of martial arts

Kyokushin Karate hands down. It’s only problem is no punches to the head, and you can literally solve that by training with punches to the head while solo training or sparring at a boxing/MMA gym with punches to the head.

Would be nice to see kyokushin blow up again and reach the heights it did back in the 80s. RIP Andy Hug and Mas Oyama.

I prefer Kyokushin. I practice the moves and have been for awhile. A lot of my favorite karate users in media also use this style a lot. Shotokan is also growing on me

Kyokushin all the way. Or a full contact Shotokan like Lyoto Machida

Sport karate makes you improve so much tour footwork, it's really good to keep distance, but of course it's also important to know how to hit hard and exchange strikes

If Kyokoshin trained with head punches then I believe that it is the ultimate striking martial art

Kyokushin karate has more real-world serviceable techniques as a focus.
Sports karate have some benefits in that it allows you to learn a VERY crucial skill in distancing and spacial awareness.

I think the former is more serviceable. I think it gives more at base and you have to add less to Kyokushin to make it more viable than the latter

You forgot to add that kyokushin doesn't do punches to the faces whereas in sport karate you can but not allowed to knock out. Personally I think both are great arts. Probably better if you can combine them but if I was forced to pick one, it will have to be kyokushin.

i want to try kyokushin one day but we practice point sparring at my dojo. I think that's good for utilizing strategy and developing balance but one day I wanna just get thrown across a room lol.
