Erbswurst, or dehydrated German Split Pea Soup was/has been a staple ration for civilian and military alike for a century at least. This is my adaptation of the recipe.

My completed recipe (all amounts are approximate):

3-4 cups water
1 cup Split Pea Flour
2 carrots
2 Stalks of Cellary
3 cloves of Garlic
1 onion
1/2 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
1 Small Spicy Summer Sausage

Erbswurst means pea sausage. It was originally made into a dried stick like a sausage and carried as a ration

Thanks for the video, it's given me some ideas. I'm thinking of doing something similar and then dehydrating it to preserve it and reduce the weight for backpacking.

nice. only thing i would add is that as far as i know in most regions of germany you tend to use the celery root more than the stalk. you can buy fresh soup vegetables in most supermarkets in a bundle of leek, celery root, carrots and parsley.

Awesome! A camping mirepoix: celery, carrots and onions. Thanks for a great recipe I am going to have to try. I need to go back and watch to first two episodes.

Hmmmm that looks pretty good. Not the prettiest dish but I bet that tasted very nice. Take care Mark.

It was depressing there was no actual meat in the meal.. lol I made sure to have something to eat before and during watching another Feral Woodcraft cooking video because they make me hungry.

DID I miss any seasoning that may have been done?
