Shrinkflation is insane. They have made the cereal boxes so narrow that they barely stay on the shelf without falling over.

It's a shame that the quality of Chipotle's service has taken such a turn for the worse. The CEO's nod and wink suggestion is just ridiculous. The customers should get what they pay for without any tricks or dance moves.

Remember $5 foot long at subway? Vote with your wallet people. That's like $20 now lol

When Chipotle first opened in my town, the amounts of food served were copious and plentiful, that lasted for about the 1st year. After that, portions slowly began shrinking.

My husband works at Chipotle. The CEOs at Chipotle don't want to spend any money on anything. There are equipment in the restaurant that needed to be repaired for MONTHS isn't
being repaired. They have cut the number of people allowed to work per shift while expecting the same amount of work to get done. He hasn't had any kind of raise in a year. It's bad.

It ain't just chipotle. Everything at the grocery store is either more expensive or they quietly make it smaller. You can't leave a fast food place without spending about as much as we're used to paying for a nicer restaurant. I had to go get a subway sandwich the other day because I forgot to bring lunch to work with me, and I ended up spending $15 for a footlong and the smallest drink they had. No chips or anything, just a sandwich and a drink. This stuff is happening everywhere.

As someone who had worked at Chipotle for almost 3yrs, yes, the portion sizes are very small. 4oz was the max amount we were allowed to give. A few of us would give more as we thought it was too little of a portion size, but if you get caught giving a little more than you are supposed to, you get scolded by the boss.

I'm honestly surprised it took at least 9 years for people to notice. The last time I ate at a chipotle was 9 years ago, and they were pulling this crap then.

as a chipotle employee, i'd like to clarify to every (rightfully) angry customer: YOUR TINY PORTION SIZES ARE NOTHING PERSONAL AGAINST YOU. IT IS NOT UP TO US; THE SERVERS. TAKE IT UP WITH MANAGEMENT. Do you think we LIKE having customers cuss us out, yell at us, and just generally give us shit for it??? NO, we DON'T. Not happy with the amount of meat we serve? Ask to speak to a manager. It is not up to us. It's not our decision; it's not like we get a kick out of seeing customers pissed off at us. When we have managers breathing down our asscracks about how much food we give you; we are not happy campers. it's very stressful and we KNOW it pisses off customers; of course it would.

TLDR; before you yell at the next chipotle employee you encounter who's being skimpy with your portions; please remember that it is nothing personal, it's just POLICY. Take it up with a manager or call corporate.

Excellent Report! Haven't been in over a year. 3 incidents: 1.) Pork fat not trimmed, terrible, through it away. 2.) Given a VEGAN when I ordered beef. Called the store. They refused to give me a credit. In fact, they couldn't care less. 3.) Chicken was half done. re-cooked it after I got home. This was in Denver. I'm done!
Thanks Brett!

My boyfriend and I have really realized this happening over the last year. The difference between online ordering and going in is such a difference.

Went to an event like a year ago, and got like 8 slivers of “crispy” pork belly, and palm-sized salad, and 2 cups of cooked rice, all coming out to be $20! Pork belly wasn’t even crispy. Price gouging is out of control!

The rich think we are stupid. But we all notice the shrink-flation

I first started going to Chipotle around 2000. It was amazing for a decade plus. Chicken burritos were $4.25 when I started eating there, and the amount of food included was insane. I continued eating there throughout the 2000s and 2010s. Ever since they got Brian Niccol as CEO (formerly of Taco Bell), their portion sizes have shrunk. In addition, I've found the quality of the food, at least at the Atlanta area Chipotles I go to, drop immensely. In short, Chipotle has become a rip-off. Not because spending $10-$12 on a meal is too much on principle... it isn't. But spending $10-$12 on THAT meal? Absolutely too much. It's a shame; I haven't been there since 2021. Thankfully there are local alternatives.

I've scratched Subway, Chipotle/Qdoba off the list years ago. Not paying 10 bucks + for a couple razor thin slices of meat on a sandwich or an anemic fraction of an ounce of cubed meat in my burrito. People are crazy.

My son and I went to Chipotle about a week ago and this was our experience. Fortunately, the food still tasted great, so I’m thankful for that. But when they were making our burritos, you would have thought we were ordering from the kid’s menu. I heard my son say a handful of times, “Can I get a little more? A little more?” My son ordered 2 burritos, he’s a 17 y/o football/rugby player at 6’3” and 215 lbs. What they first portioned out was a joke. 😂
