As soon as I saw the folded corner in the original video, I knew people would get mad. Didn’t even need to fold the page because it was literally the first page

i think that people dog-earing pages, writing notes in their books, and cracking the spines is a clear sign of love. it shows that you love reading and you love that book. a "destroyed" book is a loved book.

if you ARE a TRUE bookworm, you WOULD lose bookmarks and you would understand the struggle.

True bookworms know that broken spines, folded pages, water stained or water damaged papers, odd stains here and there, annotating the book, all just means that those books have been well loved and well read. Unless it's not your book, then obviously keep it clean, but those little imperfections are what show your adventures taken in those stories.

as a bookworm i think it’s lovely when people do things like this. it’s your book now, claim it. same thing with annotating directly on the page. people get mad at me cause when i like a book i kiss the last page and it leaves a lipstick mark. who cares maybe one day someone will find that book and think it’s lovely to know someone loved it

I think it gives my books character...all the memories of my time with it. That time I spilled a splash of my tea on a corner, the way I reread a particular scene so many times the book naturally opens to that page. I like writing down things in the margins with pencil...and dogearing is familiar, comfortable..an expression of my love towards the book

I actually had a teacher tell my entire class that we SHOULD fold the corner of the book because “people like reading books that look worn down” so she had my entire class get our library books, take out the book mark, and fold the page 🥲 then the librarian yelled at us all…

As someone who reads a lot, I fold pages too because that's the best bookmark and it won't even get lost. Do what you want. If those people are actual bookworms, they will understand the struggle bookmark causes.

REAL bookworms use a small child to mark their pages.

I’m a bookworm and I fold the corner. I also crack the spine, write notes on the margins and highlight sentences or phrases that are impactful. If you love a book, use the book. No sense in keeping it in mint condition 😂

As someone who loves books, for me, they are alive and everytime I see someone else handling a book, folding a corner or writing in the margins, I take it to mean that the book is thriving. That same book, when it will come to my hands, will show me that someone had loved it once. That little note on the margin will tell me admiration and love, the faint line of the corner would show me loyalty and promise.

Books are meant to be loved.

First off I use bookmarks ALL the time and then proceed to lose them ALL the time. Anyways it's still a deadly sin deep in my heart.

Also I recommend the book "House of Hollow" if you're leaning more on the scary mystery type of book.

…I fold the corner bc it makes me feel more attached to the book, didn’t know this was such a bad crime 😅

if people got as mad about real world issues as they did over pieces of paper we’d probably have solid progress by now.

I fold the corner too when reading - my main reason being half the time a bookmark falls out on me and just that makes my motivation to read a physical book disappear sometimes, since I'd have lost the page. Though I normally don't fold the corner that much, just a tiny, like 1cm or less, fold is the way I keep track of where I am

my favorite librarian loves when people dog ear pages bc a lot of times people do it on a page that’s meaningful to them and she loves reading what pages/parts spoke to people

Fold the page, annotate it, get crumbs and stains on it. If its your book and you own it make it yours!
