Chain vs Belt Driven Garage Door Opener.

This is simply a comparison of the noise from the opener itself, not the door.
The Lift Master(chain drive) came with the new house. It just wasn’t ideal for me because there is a room right above the garage. And that room happens to be my office.
If it was a detached garage it would be fine.
I switched it out for a Genie 750(belt drive). What a difference in sound! There is a little noise, nowhere compared to the amount of noise from the chain drive.
I recommend this product for a attached garage.

The LiftMaster, 8165 change drive I think the chain was too low in the track because it’s too loose. It makes a buzzing sound.

That was a perfectly working liftmaster and you really had to replace it I don’t mind my liftmaster 3265 chain drive

Well if the garage door was lubricated and the chain was tighten up to 1/2 inch above the rail I think it would be a lot more quiet

Good job with the video. Sorry for my rude comments along time ago.
